This summer, DOEN is opening its gallery for a group exhibition featuring art works by different artists and designers varying in media. The ensemble includes over twenty different works by nine different artists, showcasing both existing and unseen paintings, light objects, sculptures, installations, ceramics, and works on paper.

Bringing some of these artists together for the first time sets up the opportunity for new unexpected dialogues. This summer group exhibition is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with our artists and designers. Discover new stories this summer at DOEN.

Crafted out of a Blue Roma quartzite kitchen top, this kitchen shows what can be made possible in our designs.
One of the two Neolith countertops features Invisacook technology, allowing you to cook without a visible stove.

Creating a sanctuary to grow old in – The clients, a couple with a deep affection for the outdoors, wanted a home that seamlessly blended with the nature and space just outside their door. Navigating the fixed floor plan and pre-existing electrical layout, we used our creativity to make the home feel uniquely theirs.

The challenge of the home’s curves was met with a blend of coziness and dynamism, ensuring the space feels intimate yet lively.

With children and grandchildren frequently visiting, it was essential to incorporate a guest bed that could be conveniently stored away when not in use. We designed a custom fold-out bed solution that seamlessly blends with the room’s decor, allowing the space to transform between a cozy guest room and a functional space to work and play music.

Our second project in the prestigious CasaNova building in the centre of Rotterdam.

For a returning client, we had the pleasure of designing their new city centre apartment.

Building on the client’s style we already knew, we collaborated to realise their new home.
The design, characterized by a palette of sleek black and muted grays, is highlighted by vibrant mustard accents and luxurious blues, providing a bold yet harmonious contrast.

A glimpse of The Sandbox, a boutique coworking space, in Little C.

Captured by .studio , they delivered on the concrete flooring that extends throughout the spacious meeting location.

For we had the opportunity to shape the design and lay-out from the ground up.
Leveraging our curated brand collection, we integrated lighting solutions from and , and collaborated with to incorporate a variety of custom furniture pieces.

For a monumental project in Rotterdam-West, we decided on a fresh and bright palette: we incorporated a range of white-toned colours to form the foundation, to really make an impact with the darker toned art pieces and styling throughout the home.

Resulting in a harmonious blend of contrasting elements, that not only gave the home a fresh start; but also kept the original characteristics alive.

For our clients we designed the basic foundations such as the flooring, walls, lighting, kitchen and bathrooms, and also coordinated the renovation through our trusted contracters.

Perched on one of the highest floors of the Casanova building, our clients have found their second home in the Netherlands.

It’s a stark contrast to their residence in the southern part of the country, where they trade suburban life for a spacious apartment in the vibrant heart of the city. Centrally located, it’s conveniently close to the University of Rotterdam for their children. 

The residence exudes elegance and tranquility, yet it also makes bold statements - such as the bespoke bed with its striking headboard. Our clients aimed for a hotel-chic ambiance, modern yet minimalist. Considering the couple’s frequent travels, interior elements had to be easy to maintain.

DOEN realized the complete design, from the initial sketches to the supervision of all parties. With a curated selection of our brands, we finished the home move-in ready.

Minimalist kitchen

Our core principle is that we work from people’s own imagination. Because we believe that interior design can elevate the everyday, when it reflects the soul of its residents.

Together with our client, we were able to elevate his love for functionalism to a new level and applied it to his new apartment in the center of Rotterdam.

We advised the client on the layout, colour choices, and furnishings for this apartment. With our stylists, we extended the colour plan to the choices for, among others, his kitchen and dining area.

Marie Bernard is a collaboration between designer Masja van Deursen and artist Serge Game that started in 2017.

Taking their separate professional practices as a starting point they explore their shared passion for the tactile use of color and material. Their approach is very intuitive, leaving room for both abstract and more figurative results. Usually, without a preconceived plan, they start working with scissors and paper, looking for fascinating shapes and compositions.

Soon after the start of their collaboration, Marie Bernard decided to produce a selection of their paper collages in plywood reliefs. In late 2021 and early 2022, Marie Bernard developed a number of sculptural works. These works are still based on the shapes found in the collages.

As of mid 2023 Marie Bernard began exploring their themes on canvas.
Both fascinated by painting and a painter himself since the beginning of his career, they embarked on a journey which combines their love for powerful yet simple compositions, radiant colours and a deliberate handling of paint and pastels.
