With i3D.net recent integration of Ubisoft Hosting Services (UHS), Smartdc - Performance Datacenters, as the daughter company of i3D.net took over the management of two previously internal Ubisoft data centers— in Montreal, Canada and Paris, France. 🌍

The two data centers were formerly used for low-latency use cases such as gaming and the internal mission-critical systems of Ubisoft. Due to the high-performance use of these data centers in the past, the two facilities come with top-tier power, cooling and security systems. Smartdc - Performance Datacenters will be offering customized colocation solutions at both locations to provide customers the opportunity to utilize these proven systems for improved connectivity and IT infrastructure workloads.🤝

Our residual heat project captures excess heat from our data center and repurposes it to heat over 100 offices in the UNESCO Heritage site, Van Nelle Fabriek. Girls' Day 2023 was a huge success at Smartdc Rotterdam! 🎉

Girls' Day is an annual initiative by VHTO to encourage young girls to explore STEM-related fields and choose careers in tech. We had the pleasure of opening our doors to a group of 22 girls from a local high school, who got to experience a day in the life of a data center expert! 💡💻

Our female experts provided an interactive introductory presentation about the work of Smartdc and facilitated two workshops: a tour of the data center, and a programming exercise. We hope this experience inspired these young girls to pursue a career in tech and showed them that women have a place in this industry too! 👩‍💻💪

Our Rotterdam data center just got even more sustainable. 🌍

We're thrilled to announce that today we've officially replaced the cold-water machines used for cooling our servers with heat pumps. This means that we can now divert residual heat generated from our servers to heat up nearby offices in the Van Nelle Factory. ♻️

The best part? We can now save up to 80% of the 1 million m3 of gas that these offices use each year. By using the heat generated by our servers, we're effectively replacing the gas that was originally used for heating the Van Nelle Factory during the winter months.❄️
