On 12 June, like every year, Huisman awarded the Constructors' Prize 2024 to first-year mechanical engineering students at TU Delft. The aim was to stack 25 boxes in the shortest possible time. Huisman believes that it is important to support these initiatives, to contribute to the development of future engineers and to ensure a steady supply of skilled professionals who are equipped for impact and technical challenges of today and tomorrow. Following a dry dock period in Brest, France, we have recently completed the load test of the 1,540mt Huisman Leg Encircling Crane of Cadeler's Wind Scylla.
In addition, periodic maintenance has been carried out to ensure that the vessel is equipped for impact. We wish Wind Scylla the best of luck in her next endeavours!”

Over the past few months, we have refurbished the Pipelay Tower of Technip FMC and DOF's Skandi Buzios at our facility in Schiedam, the Netherlands. Last Thursday marked a significant milestone as we successfully lifted the 2,400mt weighing Flex-Lay System back onto the vessel using two sheerlegs. Through precise ex*****on and efficiency, we ensured a seamless process, completing the entire lift operation within just 12 hours!

It has proven to be a challenge to provide a time- and cost-efficient solution for logistics in the construction of offshore wind farms in US waters and in remote areas. Using a feeder vessel is the Jones Act-compliant solution for transportation of components to the field. However, these components need to be lifted from a moving vessel. See how the 1,600mt Leg Encircling Crane for Fred. Olsen Windcarrier's Brave Tern was seamlessly loaded out - in one piece - from our 66m high production hall in Schiedam (NL). This exceptional crane has a 140-metre long boom and boasts a lifting height of 165 meters above deck. With this upgraded crane, jack-up offshore wind turbine installation vessel Brave Tern will soon be capable of installing larger foundations and handling next generation turbines.

The crowning glory of this project is the nomination for the renowned ESTA Award of Excellence in the category of Innovations. What sets this crane apart is its versatility – as a fully electric crane, it's well-suited for various operations. Being able to handle components of 3,000mt at a reduced height, it has demonstrated its readiness for the next-generation wind turbine installations onshore, offshore, and even on floating foundations.

On Friday 8 March we celebrated Huisman’s 15 years of presence in Singapore. It’s a great achievement that would not have been possible without the strong partnerships we have built with our local clients and suppliers.
In 2009, we chose to expand our activities to the maritime hotspot in Asia. Being close to our clients, major yards and having access to a high-quality supply chain were the reasons to take the leap and open this location. From here, we provide services to our clients, offering new products, onsite and remote support, parts advice and supply, as well as training.
