Good day Den Haag!
It is once again time for our monthly miniature of the month showcase featuring the Mighty Chaos Warrior!
Starting of we have Mitchel! His Chaos warrior looks more like a sorcerer, with an enchanting paintjob! Good job Mitchel, love the smooth highlights.
In best Conversion we have the very spooky Pumpkinhead-warrior Made by Aris! We love the theme, it works really well.
And last but certainly not least, we have Thibo with most unique paint-scheme! There was a lot of black and red and Thibo decided to say ''Pff that doesn't work'' and went with an awesome looking green! Thanks Thibo.
That was it for this month, see you next time!
Take care,
Warhammer Den Haag
Due to difficulties with public transportation, we will be opening later than usual today.
Updates: We are expecting to open at 13:00.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
The Siege of Glimvast Mesa continues its second week!
Following the disconcerting emergence of the Skavendoom last week, and the retreat of all forces and civilians to the top of the Mesa, this week is all about keeping the baddies off of it!
While a large Khornate attack wave, climbing on the western side of the Mesa, was repulsed with much bloodshed, the remnants of jungle in the southern part shuddered - Seraphon remnants were still at large!
These remnants were keen on capturing the remaining Seraphon relics, left behind following the great sundering during the previous Campaign. Unfortunately this probing effort was repulsed by Lumineth shenanigans (eg. Lots and lots of arrows).
While the main body of defenders was preoccupied with the above, two further chaos strikes were launched, scaling the Mesa in the north and east!
To the east, the Khornate warband scaled the clifface, only to find themselves in a dense jungle, where suddenly the trees rustled and Seraphon came thundering through! Suffice it to say that again, there was much bloodshed, pleasing Khorne.. but his forces were knocked back off the Mesa regardless.
Finally, to the North, a Tzeentch warband scaled up and launched an attack, running into more Lumineth! The Tzeench leader, Bulbe the Useless, enacted a cunning plan: Dressing up one of his cultist acolytes in his robe and shoving him forward!
The acolyte tried its best to mimic the usual spellcasting movements, only for nothing at all to happen, and was promptly peppered full of arrows.
Suffice it to say the Chaos forces were again driven back, and the Sorcerer totally did not flunk all his casting dicerolls.. it was in fact his acolyte dressed up, all according to the plan!
One might be forgiven for looking at all of this and coming to the conclusion that the Forces of Order, defending the Mesa, are doing great!
Unfortunately, the grim fact is that rushing forces all over the Mesa to counter the enemy actions is taxing, and a drain on resources.
This opens up the warzone to small teams sneaking inside the defences, to enact all sorts of sabotage!
In this light, our next Campaign event will be the WarCry event, on saturday the 2nd of November!
The Siege of Glimvast Mesa has begun!
Over the course of the next 8 weeks, we will have event following event, all to tell the story of the rise of the Skaven following the Skaventide, and the impact this has on our fledgling city of Glimvast Mesa!
Yesterday saw the opening event, where we dove into the new Path to Glory narrative ruleset, which allows an army (and its warlord) to gain skills and experience in the battles you play!
While battling and coming to grips with the new rules for narrative games, we were busy telling the story of how the Skaventide cracked open the lands outside the giant Mesa, with Skaven pouring forth - putting all the people that camped outside the Mesa to flight.
The outcomes of these battles saw the Mesa get surrounded on all sides, with heavy casualties being suffered by the rearguard forces as they tried their best to protect the retreating civilians. Though some small victories were enjoyed by the defenders, ultimately they were all driven back. At least the Skaven have not managed to climb atop the Mesa (yet).
Meanwhile, treachery was abound in the city itself! A rival Idoneth warlord, jealous of the underground sea access enjoyed by the Idoneth clan responsible in part for founding the city, attacked through the large lake atop the Mesa - striking at the large cemetary works outside the city proper.
Here, Nighthaunt tending to the graves, were surprised by the sudden assault and routed - leaving the Idoneth to upend the graves and steal the souls of the freshly dead!
How this will play out in future events is anyone's guess, but this could be a point of contention with the city as a whole - The tentative alliance with the Nighthaunt will only work if the city is willing to commit to mutual defence of course.
Meanwhile, the Skaven (victorious after a small setback), claim the land around the Mesa and begin to collect all the corpses of slain warriors... leaving the defenders in the city wondering why.
All of this will continue next Saturday - where you can continue to influence these storylines!
Make sure to sign up for it by visiting or calling the store, and we shall see you all for the next one, Saturday the 19th of October, from 12:00 onwards!
Good Day den haag!
Good news, today we are open again as usual:
12:00 - 18:00
See you soon!

Hello Den Haag!
It is once again time for Mini of the Month.
This time we close September off with the sneaky ork who disguised himself (quite effectively) as a saurus warrior!
Starting of strong we have the winner for best conversion, Aris!
He made a combination of a Space marine, an Ork and of course a Seraphon! He looks savage and cool. Good job!
In best painted we have, Jakub, he made a very clean looking Ork with some smooth edge-highlighting, quite a looker!
And last but not least, we have Most Unique Paint scheme, taken once again by Harald. Nothing seems to beat his cool blend of cool blue undertones yes. The conversion is also great!
That's it for this month, thanks for participating!
For Orktober we have a mighty Chaos Warrior to pickup from the store, make sure you get yours.
See you soon,
Warhammer Den Haag
+++ ARMIES ON PARADE 2024 +++
Last Saturday, the store was host to this year's Armies on Parade, a painting contest celebrating entire armies of models at once!
Before we get into the results, a quick shout-out to everyone that took part to make the event the succes that it was - we had a staggering 19 entries, more than doubling last year! (And also leading to the best kind of 'stressed Joost' there is: The one that needs to make more room and drag in more tables to accomodate all the people dragging armies into the store to display!)
Another awesome statistic is that 3/4th of the people taking part were completely new to the event, and most of them having started the hobby this very year, displaying (proudly, and well earned) their first army!
Without further ado, let us dive into the results:
- 'Team'
The new category this year, Joost and Chelsea took home the Gold for their lovely cake-themed display! (the candles actually light up!)
- 'Youngbloods'
Jan got a deserved Gold here, and not because he happened to be the only '15 and younger' person, but because his army looks absolutely solid. Lovely array of colour schemes, yet remaining an unified whole - with the dominating Brass Scorpion as a stunning centrepiece.
'Display'
- Justin's Black Templars kept up his winning streak, taking home the gold for his cathedral-backed Black Templars!
- Dirk's Raven Guard and Jakub's World Eaters took home a shared silver for lovely displays, with the World Eaters models recessed into the display setting a great standard for army displays in general, and the Raven Guard showcasing how much fun can be had sprinkling tiny details across the display. You can keep looking and looking, and still discover new things after a while.
- Joost&Chelsea's Cake Display and Stefan's Hedonites of Slaanesh took home the shared bronze, with the Cake effectively subverting the expectations in general, and the Hedonites showcasing how cool it can look when the bases on your models exactly match the display itself!
'Individual'
- Wenjun's Astra Militarum and Justin's Black Templars took home a shared gold! Both showing expressive use of colour and lovely highlighting to bring out the details.
- Shinon's Cities of Sigmar, Michel's T'au en Jakub's World Eaters took home a shared silver, with the judges noting incredibly solid use of Yellow (the very best colour - Joost) on the Cities of Sigmar, and solid highlighting on all, especially on the T'au!
- Frank's Nighthaunt, Dirk's Raven Guard and Alexander's Death Wing Terminators finally took home the shared bronze, showcasing lovely detailing in thematic colourschemes that made everything come together as an army, especially when it came to the basing of the Nighthaunt, which really took it to the next level.
'Best Newcomer'
- Michel's T'au took this award home, by virtue of the incredibly sharp edge highlighting. Solid use of colour will go far, but especially with the hard angles of armour on these particular models, the highlights make everything very very crisp looking indeed!
'Manager's Choice'
- With a ton of awards already handed out, celebrating high levels of painting and bringing models together via a neat display board, it fell to Joost to pick someone that stoof out to him.
This award was given to Bill's Daemon army, by virtue of having the coolest story being told! Extra care was taking in home the models were set up, with the backdrop framing the Nurgle Daemons as opposed to the Tzeentch ones on the left side, but for the attentive people browsing the entries, it will have been noted that Bill went to the length to type out some lore and background information, listing it on the backside of the backdrops!
And with that, this year's Armies on Parade has come to an end. The global virtual results will follow on the Community Website next month, which is very fun to look forward to as well, while it is worth noting that next year, this very event will return again - so start your preparations now!
Good Tuesday Den Haag!
They say ''better late than never'' and we're here to honour that saying.
Mini of the Month August has come to a close and we take a look at some Space Marine Scouts!
To start this of we have our ''best conversion category'' with Joost and his nurglified scout, he went a bit too far into enemy territory and caught a flu it seems (and some tentacles).
next up we have best painted with Attila taking gold! A cool colour scheme with some very nice highlights, the camo paterns look slick too!
and last but not least we got most unique paint scheme with Harald taking it! He based this miniature with blue to make a very stylized and unique looking miniature!
Thanks for tuning in this month! oncoming sunday we will conclude mini of the Month September!
Thanks for tuning in and see you next time.
