Preparations are underway for official funeral ceremonies for (41) Yazidi martyrs shortly at the Martyr’s Monument in the city of Baghdad, in the presence of the families of the victims and Government representatives.

A conference will be held on Yazide Genocide Survivor's on 26th of January in Amsterdam, the conference is organized by Legal Network & The Nuhanovic Foundation. It's open to everyone, in person or via Zoom.

The Yazidi Activist; Sami Sheebo met with the
Member of the NSW Parliament and Multicultural Minister, MP Mark Corr, at the NSW Parliament:

Through this meeting both discussed how the Australian government can support the Yazidi community.
Sami added;
Thousands of Yazidis still living in IDP camps, Iraq, and women have pending humanitarian applications dating back to the application submitted in 2018, the process is very slow and we are asking for accelerating these applications for the survivors.
Sami: These people have been tortured and traumatized and want to rebuild their lives in Australia.
Sami added; problems that the community in Australia suffers and complains about; including the problem of language and translation, where the Yazidis prefer to install their language in the system as the Yazidi language without any other names, and Sami also said that the Yazidi community is demanding to establish a temple for the Yazidi community in Australia to practice their religious rituals

Mr. Mark took these cases very seriously and said he would take them to parliament in Canberra.

“Today’s ceremony is a stark reminder of the monstrous inhumanity that can emerge from conflict, of just how critical the need to avoid its reoccurrence is. .. While we honour the past, we must also look to the future – and thus take action with resolve so as to prevent further suffering among the people from Sinjar. They deserve a future they can believe in”, the SRSG said in her remarks.
