Coming up! The exhibition Nieuwendijk x Rotganzen at our store in Wassenaar. Visual artist Jordy van den Nieuwendijk and design collective Rotganzen will show their latest work and new collaboration.
However different in materiality and scale, the work of both artists is based on turning everyday things into playful art and design. Common recognizable objects are being transformed and altered in all ways imaginable to bring a completely new and cheerful identity to the table.
The event wil take place at Saturday the 30th of November from 15:00 - 17:00 (3 - 5 pm). We hope to see you there!

New in! The Noctambule Floor Lamp by Flos. A true night owl. Mostly invisible during the day, but coming to glamorous activity at night. The several modules can be stacked on top of each other to create a column or suspended chandelier. The LED technology is discretely integrated into the junctions between the glass modules.

How a table became a sculpture. Enthusiastic as they are about Japanese art and culture, award winning designer duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby were inspired by the typical smooth stepping stones (tobi-ishi) that characterise the Zen gardens in Japan. The overhang of the table and the perpendicular bases create a true sculptural figure that appears to change shape depending on the point of observation. The Tobi-Ishi table by B&B Italia is available in lacquered wood, black cement grout and marble and now prancing at our showroom in Wassenaar.

You might already know Vitra's Organic Chair, designed by Eero Saarinen in collaboration with Ray and Charles Eames. This wonderful chair is now available in a limited edition 100% sheepskin version!

The chair had it beginnings in 1940 but the complexity of the prototype and the absence of suitable manufacturing techniques made serial production impossible. Until 2006, when Vitra launched it as we know it now. Thanks to it's biomorphic shape and full upholstery it is one of the most comfortable chairs you have ever experienced and now in an even more cosy and luxurious look than ever.

Haasnoot's Favorite Friday! The Poet sofa by House of Finn Juhl. Finn Juhl designed the Poet for his own home in 1941 and the petite size was due to his goal to create furniture for small apartments. The details have developed over time and the legs are now also available in tapered legs as well (second image)! As seen on the original Poet sofa in Finn Juhl's own living room. Haasnoot's Favorite Friday! The 45 chair by Finn Juhl. The definition of a masterpiece and symbolic for Finn Juhl's design genius. A creation that he worked on for many years which has been called the mother of all modern chairs. One of the first designs to break free of the current tradition for armchairs by freeing the upholstered areas from the wooden frame. As a result: a clean, strong and elegant chair but most of all a quiet revolution.

Due to this idea he made many designs intended specifically for the corners of a space, like Lungangolo for example. A multi-purpose shelving system made of slender pillars with square cross sections in between placed in various heights.
