Marsuro Art Xiphosuras_CD ZieeeeJ Comicvoid Fiction

We wanted a more professional look at our convention table so we made a banner with all of us on it. It's not easy to make a cohesive image with so many different artists who each have their own style so we had to be a little creative. What do you think of the end result?

Let's look art this absolute drawing beast and part of our collective Marsuro Art ! Yellow is his colour, just like that one sweater he loves to wear. Mars is always working on something, we almost can't keep up anymore but be sure to take a look at his account for a lot animals, action scenes and a diverse range of media!

Our three eyed artist ZieeeeJ with a big pencil. Just a good HB graphite pencil has been her favourite for a while.
Zie is working on a large comic story about the party scene from her teenage years. Curious? Take a look at her page for all the WIPS!

Another legendary artist: Nienke de Ruiter, also known as Xiphosuras_CD. Nienke is working hard on a longer fantasy comic. We can't wait to see the fruits of her labour! Check out their page for WIPS!

As you can see the first one is just a cute panda. Would you pet them?
The second one is a commission for someone that is a fan of the Suske en Wiske series. As you can see Suske and Wiske don't mind a little bit of metal music!!

These are drawings for an invitation to a party. The invitation was in the form of a comic! How fun is that?

Last but certainly not least: our 5th member Comicvoid Fiction!
One of his favourite things to draw is himself! And who can blame him?! He's around either on his mountainbike and in his hip sportsclothes or he's businesstime appropriate!

What outfit is your favourite?

Marsuro Art doesn't like to sit still and only do one thing. He likes to work analog, traditionally and combine them. He loves to experiment with materials and learn new techniques. Here we have two great examples of that! One is a photograph of a drawing combined with leaves, he uses shadow to enhance the 3D feel. Whereas the blue example is just a great example of his drawing excitement turned into something more abstract.

What kind of material do you think Mars should try out next?

Here we have some beautiful French inspired sceneries from our artist Marsuro Art
When he goes to his beloved holiday trips to France he keeps sketching along but if you look closely you'll see a character coming from another place.

Our member ZieeeeJ hasn't been sitting still either. Zie uses her time in July to make 1 comic everyday. Here are two examples of her results.
Would you ever challenge yourself like that?

In the first picture we can see Xiphosuras_CD relaxing in her cosy bedroom. And the second is a little sneakpeak of a bigger fantasy story she is creating. We sure are excited to see more of this story!

Which one of them would you like to be friends with?

Today we show you some artwork of our member Xiphosuras_CD.
Here she has drawn a lot of self found bones of a coypu.
She has drawn them individually first and then constructed them into a full body.

How do you like to do anatomy research?

This is a little sneakpeak of Wick Gloudemans' graduation comic, might he ever finish. Before he restrained himself to the page however he liked making really big (and really blue) comic inspired paintings, which you saw before and will see some more off!

Here our spooky selves are at the convention table at De Stripdagen in Rijswijk. As you can tell we dressed up as a wolf a vampire and a witch. This was a fun two-day convention with a lot of visitors that came to watch artist drawing. We met a lot of new people here and we even made a connection for an exciting project in the future!
Which of us do you think is the scariest?

In 2020 we got the opportunity to publish a two-page comic for the magazine for Kamper Stripspektakel within the theme ‘Freedom’ to celebrate 75 years of freedom after the 2nd world war had ended in the Netherlands. Surprisingly we never showed these but here they are. Every member had a different task to fulfil in this process. Xiphosuras_CD Began by working on the story and making a full storyboarding. Following Marsuro Art drew all the scenes out in his own funky style. ZieeeeJ did the lineworks by tracing everything with graphite pencils on a light table. Comicvoid Fiction finished everything by colouring the pages digitally.

We zijn heel blij om te delen dat we de tweede plek hebben gewonnen en daarbij deze mooie plek in het magazine hebben mogen bemachtigen van Kamper Stripspektakel !
We hebben een "doorgeef strip" gemaakt waarbij iedereen hun eigen deel maakte en daarna doorgaf aan de volgende. Op deze manier transformeert het object steeds in iets nieuws.
Wat vind je er van?

Hier zijn nog een paar illustraties die we gemaakt hebben voor het boek 'Zwolse allerande'. Er zijn nog meer tekeningen die we gemaakt hebben voor dit boek, maar dan zal je het boek moeten kopen. Het boek is beschikbaar in boekwinkels in Zwolle en op de website van Pear Productions!
