Endless orbs on a Dead Sea salt island are projected on the wall at Kunsthall 3,14 . Sigalit Landau’s new film There for Good (2023) might remind us of the circular rings of arguments swimming around the roundtables and comment sections flooding the society. How to build a bridge that could save us from the sickening loops?

The Swedish composer and sound artist Rosali Grankull's Exercise for two and more players is a soundscape of resistance. A collective instrument emerges from the interactions, tentions and distances between the players and the wires of the individual instruments, creating a dynamic composition.

Oh My Friends, There Are No Friends by Sigalit Landau

Like an archaeological site, remains of monuments are scattered around in the Portuguese artist Tiago Bom’s video installation, República. The pieces of polystyrene columns remind us of the beginnings of Western civilization, the cradle of democracy in antiquity. The installation provokes questions about coexistence – a precondition in the global world – where one’s survival is dependent on the goodwill of both human and non-human others.

Around an ideal roundtable, each participant is on equal footing to negotiate and join a dialogue. No head of the table exists, as the seats are positioned symmetrically, following the symbolic shape of the world. United together but with conflicting interests, each member speaks, as well as listens. The Israeli-British artist Sigalit Landau’s video installation Laces gives us a seat around a roundtable, where bridge-building is debated. Might there be hope around the table, or is it all a utopia?

Kunsthall 3,14 congratulates Julian Assange for freedom. The Wikileaks founder walked out of a US court as a free man early this morning. The legal case against him began more than 14 years ago, after Assange uncovered war crimes made by the United States in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Today, we celebrate freedom of speech!
