The pre-selection jury consists of FAF festival director Anders Narverud Moen, journalist Vassilis Kroustallis, and director Katarina Lundquist. The official festival selection will be announced at the beginning of August. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know who made the cut.

Fast facts about this years submissions: In the Nordic-Baltic student film category, there are entries from 25 schools including 6 different schools in Norway. There are 59 co-productions, representing 17 more countries, out of all of the submissions there are submissions from 53 countries making the Fredrikstad Animation Festival a global celebration of animation.

Screening of Winner Films - Fredrikstad Animation Festival Together we our favorite burgers and beer-bars in Fredrikstad and the nearby city of Moss, TÆP and BØNS. we present the winner film of Fredrikstad Animation Festival 2023. The first three of the films is suitable for children.

Did you miss the fantastic Anime Architecture exhibition during the festival (how could you🫢), don't despair! It has moved to Grafill in Oslo this week. Opening tonight with an talk with the excellent Stefan Riekeles from Riekeles Gallery at 18:00.

Grafill Animasjon + Motion Design: Anime Architecture exhibition and lectures See up close the meticulous hand-drawn animation backgrounds from classics such as Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Metropolis, and more. And check out the other interesting events happening in conjunction with Anime Architecture both in Fredrikstad and Oslo.

Klara Svärd has been taking visual notes from the festivals events, and we are lucky enough to get to share them. Aren't they lovely? Maybe you will find yourself in her drawings, or some good reminders from the festival.
