I am very grateful that I could join the young and energetic Folkwang Kammerorchester Essen as a section leader this past week for a concert in the Philharmonie Essen. It was a lovely working week together with such great young players, conductor Johannes Klumpp and an absolutely amazing soloist Friedrich Thiele.

Herrlich war das gestern! Danke an für den unvergleichlichen Schumann! Und danke an unserer Publikum für das atemlos gespannte Zuhören und den euphorischen Jubel mitsamt der "standing ovations". Es war uns ein Fest! ❤️

Velkommen, Ensemble Aurorae

Ensemble Aurorae blev dannet i Oslo i 2020 af Haike Dietrich, Ema Grčman and Ragna Rian. De har siden optrådt ved adskillige koncerter i Norge samt Canada, Litauen og Schweiz. Udover deres brede standard repertoire bruger de kreative opførelseskoncepter, som integrerer samtids- og folkemusik inspireret musik, såvel som glemte værker fra Skandinavien og udlandet. Ensemble Aurorae udvider det traditionelle koncertformat for at tiltrække et bredere publikum ved at slå flere kunstformer sammen og indlemme deres egne arrangementer. I øjeblikket fokuserer de på musik fra de nordiske lande og anvender også en traditionel norsk hardangerfele i deres projekter. De samarbejder med Dextra Musica og Nymusiks Komponistgruppe og har bestilt nye værker specielt skrevet til Ensemble Aurorae, som vil blive spillet i den kommende sæson. I deres bestræbelser på at udbrede nordisk musik til publikum over hele verden optræder de i koncerthuse vidt og bredt.

Welcome Ensemble Aurorae
Ensemble Aurorae was founded in Oslo in 2020 by Haike Dietrich, Ema Grčman and Ragna Rian. Since then they have performed in a wide variety of formations in Norway, Canada, Lithuania and Switzerland. Next to their broad standard repertoire they use creative performance concepts that integrate contemporary and folk-music inspired music as well as forgotten works from Scandinavia and abroad. Ensemble Aurorae expands the traditional concert format to include a broader audience by merging different art forms and incorporating their own arrangements. Currently they are focusing on music from the Nordic countries and include in their projects a traditional Norwegian instrument, the hardanger fiddle. They collaborate with Dextra Musica and Nymusikks Komponistgruppe and have commissioned new works especially written for Ensemble Aurorae which will be performed in the following season. Endeavoring to promote Nordic music to audiences worldwide, they bring their projects to venues far and wide.

Das catinblack ensemble besteht aus einer Viola, einem Violoncello und einem Kontrabass und ist spezialisiert auf zeitgenössische Musik. Sie sind bekannt für ihre experimentierfreudige Herangehensweise an neue Konzertformate und die Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Künstlern, um einzigartige Klanglandschaften zu erschaffen. Im Jahr 2021 traten sie beim NOW! Festival auf und wurden zudem für die "WDR 3 Campus Konzerte" ausgewählt.

being-sent (2023) für Streichtrio (Viola, Cello, Kontrabass) ist eine Etüde des "becoming-with" - ein Blick auf den alltäglichen Tanz der Wesen, die aus der aktiven und passiven Verstrickung von Zellen resultieren. Was bedeutet es, das Leben mit einer anderen Spezies zu teilen? Unser Körper transportiert reichlich Leben, wobei nur etwa 10% der Zellen menschlich sind. Akzeptieren wir die Vielfalt unseres physischen Menschseins?
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem catinblack ensemble erforscht being-sent, das Zusammenleben mit unseren tierischen Gefährten und das geteilte Mikrobiom. Unsere Zellenbewegung sendet unser "becoming-with" nach außen in eine andere Welt.

I want to share with you a little project me and Ragna Rian took this february. ✍🏼We have taken this beutiful Theme by Händel and Halvorsen and have arranged it for the norwegian hardanger fiddle and the cello. 🎻 It was quite tricky to work with these two similar but yet so different instruments. We have definitely learned a lot and are looking forward to further premieres of our experiments. ✨

We are very excited to present our concept on the topic "Heaven & Hell" on Thursday, March 23rd at 7 p.m. in Altes Hallenbad Feldkirch as well as in the live stream! Montforter Zwischentöne 🎥

Together with 3 other friends of mine Ragna Rian, Onna Stäheli and Sophie Steiner we have been working into Hermann Hesse's famous novel "Der Steppenwolf" in depth and developed an exciting literary and musical concert program. 📖🐺

I'm really looking forward to present this project with the audience and play some fantastic music works. ✨🎶

V petek 20. 1. 2023 je na valovih Radia Ars RTV Slovenija izzvenela oddaja Izpod peresa slovenskih skladateljev. V tokratni oddaji se je predstavil mlad slovenski skladatelj Dominik Jakšič (https://www.dominikjaksic.com). Ob pogovoru so bila predvajana njegova dela, med drugim tudi Bagatela št.1, ki sem jo izvedla skupaj z violinistko Majo Horvat. Bagatela 1 je prvi stavek skladbe 4 Bagatele za violino in violončelo (2018), ki je bila posvečena Godalnemu Duu Horvat-Grčman.

Izvedba Bagatele št. 1 se na posnetku začne ob 05:50.

On Friday, January 20, 2023, the show “izpod peresa slovenskih skladateljev” was broadcast on Radio Ars RTV Slovenia. The young Slovenian composer Dominik Jakšič (https://www.dominikjaksic.com) presented himself and his works. During the conversation, his works were played, including Bagatelle No. 1, which I performed together with the violinist Maja Horvat. Bagatelle nr. 1 is the first movement of the composition 4 Bagatelles for violin and cello (2018), which was dedicated to the Horvat-Grčman String Duo.

Dominik Jakšič Z nami bo skladatelj mlajše generacije Dominik Jakšič. Slišali bomo njegova novejša dela, med njimi Bagatelo št. 1, Sonatino da camero za godalni kvartet, simfonično pesnitev Kralj Matjaž ter Slavnostno uverturo. V poslušanje skladb nas bodo popeljali komentarji skladatelja.
