«This book is for anyone who feels the urge to climb trees, get grass stains on their knees, and dreams of being able to fly. It’s for the rebels who prefer to do the opposite of what they’re told,» said Alexander Istad, author of The Dynamite Dudes and the Buzzkiller.

Tracking the Wolverine «primarily revolves around the joy of really immersing yourself in nature – the ability to step off the proverbial treadmill for a while and take the time to look up at the starry sky, observe the life we’re a part of, relish the absence of stress and noise, and ponder some profound questions about life and the meaning of it.»

«In the long 19th century, many women philosophers were marginalised or ignored. We need to rediscover them,» write Kristin Gjesdal and Dalia Nassar, authors of 'Women in Philosophy'. In their essay 'More than muses and martyrs', Gjesdal and Nassar focus on the female philosophers in the 19th century. Yes, we had Kant, Freud, Hegel and Nietzsche, but we also had women such as Lou Salomé, Karoline von Günderrode, Rosa Luxemburg and more who «contributed to just about each and every area of philosophy.»

Last week the film adaption of Gulraiz Sharif's hit debut-novel 'Listen up!' finally premiered! 🥳 After years in the works, it was exciting to be able to step up on the red (blue) carpet with everyone else who have worked so hard on the film. When the producers, Yngve Sæther and Ingvil Sæther Berger, and the director, Kaveh Tehrani, read the book, they said they felt they had gold between their hands. The result is a film true to the book, and which has managed to transfer Mahmoud's unique voice to the screen. Of course we are biased, but we just love this film so much, and we cannot wait for everyone else to see it as well! 🤩
Congratulations to Ingvar Ambjørnsen for receiving the Aschehoug prize yesterday 🥳🤩
Each year Aschehoug Publishing House awards the prize to an author with a distinguished authorship, and the prize is considered one of Norway's most prestigious awards.
«The winner of this year's award has a unique ability to capture in his work the lonely, the eccentric, the downtrodden and off-kilter souls. In combination with sharp and pointed social criticism and a finely tuned dark sense of humor, many a reader has deeply resonated with Ambjørnsen's books.»
A brief but solid review of The New Fish by Simen Sætre and Kjetil Østli in The New York Times! ✨

«White, Norwegian Man is an honest and personal book that contains a number of examples of the invisible racism many adoptees can experience. I myself was adopted from South Korea and grew up in the most Norwegian way possible: first in line to inherit the family farm in a tiny village in western Norway. But even though I grew up in a white, Norwegian family and feel 100% Norwegian, I still experience racism.»
