Stian Orm (27): Fikk autisme-diagnose som barn. Tok doktorgrad i høyt tempo Eksperter mente det ikke fantes håp for barn med en slik diagnose som Stian fikk. Han gjorde alle spådommer til skamme. Nå er han ekspert selv.

Sommerprogram for bachelorstudenter er en glimrende mulighet til å bli med på et program i USA om «Civic Engagement» eller «Environmental Issues» med alle kostnader dekket. En av årets deltagere oppsummerte erfaringen slik, “Ukene jeg tilbrakte i USA med SUSI har vært blant de morsomste og mest interessante i mitt liv. Jeg har lært masse om USA og verden, og møtt mange nye mennesker som jeg har blitt veldig glad i. Jeg er kjempetakknemlig for at jeg fikk denne muligheten, og anbefaler alle studenter å søke neste år.“

Sommerstipend for bachelorstudenter Fulbright i Norge administrerer Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Student Leaders sommerprogram for bachelorstudenter i regi av det amerikanske Utenriksdepartementet (Department of State).

Being a student grantee during the tough pandemic year of 2021-22 did not stop Connor Wilson from having a fruitful stay. Connor, his UiO host, and other colleagues he met while in Norway recently published this piece about mathematical techniques that can be used to investigate evolutionary changes in the fossil record.

Nice to see Fulbright student Leah Balter getting such a warm welcome at UiB.

Leah will explore connections between the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian refugee-crisis Fulbright-student Leah Eliza Balter from the United States has recently started a new research-project at The Pandemic Centre. She will explore how Norway’s Covid-19 experiences may have influenced the response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis that happened simultaneously.

Det var leit å høre om Geir Lundestads alt for tidlige bortgang. Både som professor og formidler av amerikansk historie og politikk, og som direktør ved Nobelinstituttet, var Lundestad en sentral medspiller i arbeidet med å skape større forståelse over landegrenser, og dermed bidra til fred i verden. Han var selv Fulbright stipendiat ved Harvard i 1978-79. Fulbright Norge lyser fred over hans minne.
