Hello! Just a quick little check-in/update.
I'm still on holiday but I've contracted Covid!So if you've messaged me recently and haven't heard anything it's because I've just been in bed shivering and coughing (f**k me it's been horrible) but I think I'm coming out of the end of it now so I'll start to reply to people soon.

I'm back at work at the end of this month. When I haven't been sick I've been spending time drawing and sketching and painting. Here's a recent study page I made of magpies.

I've included a photo of how the flash design looks before we turn it into a tattoo, to give an idea of how most of my work develops. Often I have a rough idea of how the designs will turn out and will work with the client throughout the process...

I love that no two jobs are ever really the same, and occasionally my customers will throw me absolute curve balls of ideas that we work together on.

Next week is my last week before my summer holidays! I've got Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday free, so come and grab something before I'm gone for July.

I've been working with Christian on his collection of tattoos for a while now. Everything on his body (except the snake on the shoulder, the flaming heart, and the mandala and flower on the inside of his right arm) have all been done by myself. It's been fun to work with him and see how the pieces heal too. Looking forward to adding more soon.

Bumbles, butterflies and a dragonfly for the brilliant Martine. Tricky to photo the whole thigh but we did all of these in one sitting!

Turned that illustration into a back piece! Here's a work in progress shot. We're doing it piece by piece, as if building a puzzle...

'A horse with no name'

Illustration based on one of my favourite songs. Ink and pen on drawing board, A3. Making more of an effort to produce more illustrations and drawn work, hoping to develop this into a small series of southern gothic themed pieces.

So two things....
1. I'm (finally) making a website for my work. This website will now be the first place you can get priority booking with my new flash and see my new designs. Hoping to get it up and running by the end of this month!

2. I noticed less engagements on my posts since they were synced with my instagram account. I post quite frequently there, so I'm concerned my facebook audience perhaps isn't as interested in seeing so many posts on their feed? (didnt mean to spam you, sorry!) or maybe I have less reach here? Either way, to prevent the spamming, Ive turned off cross posting and will try and get back into the habit of updating this page manually.

Pt.2 chest piece for Isabelle today. We worked on adding in two butterfly tattoos that were already there into the design. Looking forward to getting some photos of this piece once it's all healed and settled.

Thank you to Isabelle for starting this piece today. Loved how it turned out and looking forward to doing the next side.

I know I've been on a bit of a botanical theme lately, but I also make dark Eldritch horrors of the void too, like this Lovecraft inspired portal for Joss' leg.

Also I've decided now to just post my work regardless of algorithms or days that are better to post or any of this other insta nonsense that's floating around, so fed up of it and I'm not sure it makes much difference tbh.

Another lovely magnolia piece for Emma earlier on in the week. She's been telling me all about her new job as a nurse after qualifying, I think I even tattooed her as she just started her nursing degree. Wishing her lots of luck.

Fun fact, magnolias predate flying insects in the fossil records, they are a prehistoric and ancient flower that relied on creepy crawlies to pollinate them (my dad told me this first and I thought he was just having an 'elderly moment' but turns out he was right!)

We had a really lovely session together and it made me realize how much I've missed doing this and how much I'm looking forward to doing it again.

She chose a small flower design from my recent botanical flash sheet. We basically just chatted and gossiped and giggled for the whole session.

Last piece of work for the year. Some hand drawn thank you cards in pen and ink. It's nice to draw non tattoo things from time to time.

I'm going to keep this up into next year, I've enjoyed making more prints as well as adding colour into my work, I'd like to produce some more series as well, and sets of illustrations.

What kind of work would you like to see for next year? More prints? More illustration and series? More colour work? More smaller/bigger tattoos?

I Wanted to do my art vs artist recap a bit differently this year.

I'm really looking forward to starting again in February, excited to continue with old projects and start some new ones, and getting back to the shop too!

So happy to finally show these! I don't often work in colour, but I thought I'd give it a try with these new designs I've made, and I'm so glad I did.

Three new A4 gicleé colour prints, in a limited run, will be available for purchase at the Christmas market on Saturday the 9th December.

The .studioo Christmas market is coming up on the 9th of December, and I'm getting some pieces together.

I'll be selling some original framed pieces of artwork, along with some new prints and a few more surprise pieces too, all perfect for last minute Christmas gifts, and all handmade.

I'll be looking to do more of these types of smaller designs when I get back, they're a lot of fun to make and they fit with pretty much any other tattoos you have.

New vase piece I've been working on recently. Looking to develop these pieces further as either large or small flash. I'll be (hopefully) offering both originals and prints for sale at a later date, along with some other goodies I've been working on.
