𝔾𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕤 𝕊𝕥𝕒𝕧𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕣 🧡

Endings are always painful. Casa Salsitas is permanent closed now. First, I want to thank all of you who supported this project since the opening in May 2021. It has been an amazing experience, and I am glad that we were able to connect through food and you got to experience true Mexican flavors.

I am in a phase in life where this project no longer fulfills my goals, and my mission here is done. But, I hope Casa Salsitas stays in your memory, I hope my story can inspire women out there to turn their dreams into goals and reality. That my biggest achievement was for me to open the door to you to new opportunities and experiences… I hope you keep supporting and lifting the women in your life to become the best version of themselves.

I want to thank Anders Ohm and Pedersgata Utvikling for believing in me and my crazy ideas. I feel so proud I was part of Stavanger’s greatest food community, and of course my neighbors and other business-owners in the street: it was a pleasure to meet you, hang out with you; the friendship will continue.

To my customers: I am sorry tacos on the weekend will not be the same. I am thankful for your acceptance and your kind reviews. It was my pleasure to bring you down to my México, my hometown, and my family’s table in a bite.

Feliz año nuevo everyone!✨

Life is too short. Book that trip to Mexico this summer! ✈️🇲🇽♥️

From the bottom of my heart:
Gracias,

Patricia 🧡

Hola!
Just want to give you an update. Casa Salsitas 🧡 will be closed this week and next week. I am moving the kitchen in Pedersgata and there are things to fix. I will open again 1st of October. And my new concept: micro salsa factory will open from first week of October! 🥳

You can come directly to our casa to buy salsas and fresh tomatillos and get a taco on the way 😏 You can also buy our salsas in Meny, and fresh tomatillos at Coop Mega in Madla.

Muchas gracias for your support and patience during these weeks! It’s not easy for one person to do all of this, but when you love what you do, it’s easier to go through it 🧡

Have a nice weekend everyone!
Feliz fin de semana! ✨✨

Just an update 🧡✨✨✨
Muchas gracias for all your support since we open Casa Salsitas in May 2021. I am very thankful for your comments and love seeing how you like our creation.

However, the way things have been done are not efficient and are not working for me. So we are changing the structure, changing the concept. We are turning our place 23 into a micro salsa factory with a versatile kitchen to produce salsa with direct sale, and sell food.

We are changing our concept into Brunch during the week. Our brunch is back with Birria. We will try to open some weekends during the night, but it will be announce later, since I am still planning it.

We are opening this week Thursday and Friday for brunch 🧡 hope to see you there 🌵

Check our stories for more information.

Wow! Still processing the last 4 days 🥹✨✨✨It has been an incredible experience. The one I was not expecting. We were just two women-owned companies doing what we love to do while having fun. The planning for our gladmatrett was fun (with some tequila cocktails in between) 😅 and we knew what we wanted people to taste from the beginning: a Mexican summer fiesta. We are so happy that you enjoyed our food, we put our heart 🧡 and create a soul on our food to show you my México through its taste.

The shrimp cocktail was my grandmother’s favorite seafood dish. She would order it every time we went to restaurants. So, this memory is very much connected to it.

And is not a fiesta without tequila, margaritas! Agree? Jolanta’s talent and creativity took all of us to that Mexican sky… are you with me?

Gracias I will never forget this experience✨and to our customers: Thank you for your patience and support🧡 stay tuned…

New Paleta flavor

Vanilla covered with Mexican chocolate and coconut on top 🤍

Did you know that vaniland chocolate are originally from Mexico?

Chocolate or cacao, in Nahuatl is “Cacahuat” was very important to the Aztecs. They believed it was food from the gods, and they made a drink from it called “Xocolatl”.

Vanilla is originally from the east part/ golf of Mexico area. The Totonacas used vanilla as a perfume, medicine or anti-mosquito, and religious ceremonies. So, when the Aztecs dominated that area, they added the vanilla to their cacao drinks.

Later, the Spaniards send cacao to their colonies and how it got expanded to the world. You find this ingredients in Africa, however, the origin was Mexico🧡

Now you know, the chocolate, the word that has been adopted in every language, has its root in Aztec’s language. Just like our paletas made by

ℙ𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕥𝕒𝕤 🧡 are popsicles made in a traditional way with fresh fruits. Mexico has a long tradition of consuming ice cream, and therefore is part of our culinary experience.

My home state is the capital of ice cream, popsicles, and aguas frescas. It all started in a small town called Tocumbo. From there it was introduced to Mexico City, were it became very popular and spread to the whole country. You can find “La Michoacana” (which means, the Michoacán woman) stores everywhere in Mexico and in many parts of the USA.

I grew up eating popsicles and drinking aguas frescas everyday. That was my after school treat. There is nothing refreshing and natural than eating fresh fruit in a different form. And ice cream is part of our culture and lifestyle.

So, I am very happy to collaborate with to bring that experience in our casa. Are you ready for Mexican flavors?

The flavor of this paleta is: Guayaba (guava)

𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕒 is a traditional ceramic technique that is very popular in Mexico. It is known as Talavera Poblana: you can find pottery, crockery, and tiles. Most Mexican kitchens have some of this elements. So, it is our stamp.

It’s origin comes from Spain. From a city called “Talavera de la Reina”, closed to Toledo. The technique is originally from Arab countries and it was developed in Talavera de la Reina and expanded to Sevilla.

When the Spaniards came to Mexico, they found similar materials to work with and brought this pottery technique. Both talaveras (Spain & Mexico) were declared as an intangible cultural heritage by the UNESCO in 2019.

The 𝕋𝕒𝕝𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕒 is special to me, it represents my culture, gastronomy, art, history, and identity. It is my image, it’s me.

Learning history is fascinating! how Latin America’s culture is a fusion of global trade and Southern European & Indigenous cultures. This is what created and shaped our identity and connection to a whole continent 🌎

Los ℂ𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕠𝕤 🌵or “cactus” are originally from the Americas. There are around 1,400 species in the world, where 669 are originally from México. Most of them are located in the desert region, center, southeast.

Did you know some of them 🌵 can live up to 500 years?

Los ℂ𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕠𝕤 🌵 are an essential component of arid ecosystems, providing a source of food and water for many animals and insects. However, many species are in danger of extinction because of illegal trade.

So, next time you buy one, make sure it was properly handled 🌵🧡
