We are happy to share that BOA has completed the load-out, transport and float-off the Marine Donut, the first fully enclosed floating salmon fish-farm on our semi-submersible Boabarge 34 (140 x 36 x 8.54m, 24.600 t DWT). The load-out of the Marine Donut was done at Asdalstrand, Bamble, Norway and the float-off was done North of the island Sekken, Romsdalsfjord, Norway.

BOA carried out extensive engineering and operational services during both planning and ex*****on.

The unique Marine Donut is designed and constructed by Bluegreen Vision AS at Asdalstrand, Bamble and is constructed in High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). The weight of the construction is approximately 750 including the support frame and have an outer diameter of 59m and height of 19.4m.

BOA would like to thank Bluegreen Fusion AS for the award of the contract and for excellent cooperation.

We are happy to share that BOA has successfully completed the drydocking of the well intervention semi-submersible vessel, Q4000, in the Gulf of Mexico.

Due to the vessels footprint, BOA provided our industry leading dual barge solution. The operation was performed with our Boabarge 29 & Boabarge 30 including our in-house engineering and design for link beams, cribbing and guideposts.

BOA operated the barges in sync and oversaw the float-on/float-off operation in accordance with our procedures and manuals.

BOA would like to thank Helix Energy Solutions Group for the award of the contract and for excellent collaboration.

We are happy to share the news that BOA has effectively completed their part in the Floating Offshore Wind Pilot Project for SBM Offshore.

Through this wind farm initiative, we were tasked with supporting the development of a cleaner energy future.

Our committed team, including our experienced personnel aboard the semi-submersible Boabarge 36 and ASD tug Boa Heimdal, safely executed all operations, which is a testament to our stringent safety standards.

Before embarking on the operations, our project team completed the construction and installation of the grillage on the Boabarge 36, preparing her for the safe transportation of the floaters. In addition, we executed the procurement and installation of mooring equipment at the float-off location in the Port of Fos-sur-Mer, ensuring secure and efficient float-off operations.

BOA's scope of work for launching of each wind farm floater included the following phases:

✅Floaters loading and securing: Thanks to the unique capabilities of Boabarge 36 and in close cooperation with SBM Offshore, Sarens and Eiffage Métal, we managed the careful loading of the cargo, ensuring every floater was secure.
✅Towing to Float-Off Location: Under BOA Towing Master command and with the aid of GPMM harbor tugboats and the harbor pilots, we safely navigated the towing route to the float-off location.
✅Float-Off Operation: Demonstrating our specialized abilities, we executed the submerging phase of Boabarge 36, allowing for the smooth float-off operation and handover of the floaters.

Our engineering team conducted careful planning and detailed engineering to ensure the project's efficient and seamless ex*****on.

It was a privilege to work on this floating offshore wind project for SBM Offshore, and we appreciate their confidence. BOA is pleased to be a part of the energy transition and looks forward to future opportunities in this dynamic and vital industry.

We remain committed to offering exceptional solutions and assuring safe, on-time, and secure deliveries.

Successful sideways load-out of DemoSATH

Boa have successfully completed load-out and float-off of DemoSATH floating offshore wind pilot project being developed by Saitec Offshore Technologies & RWE Renewables, the first ever Spanish built wind turbine platform (including the turbine) in the port of Bilbao. The operation was done with the Boabarge 33 in a sideways load-out. All operational management of the barge during load-out and float-off was the responsibility of BOA including corresponding engineering deliverables such as Grillage analysis and design, mooring analysis and arrangements, ballast plans as well as the float-off operation manual.

The engineering company Saitec Offshore Technologies has design and developed SATH concept. A concrete twin-hull structure, made of modular, pre-fabricated components. The design has a single point of mooring, which means it aligns itself to the current and wave direction.

The DemoSATH will be towed to the BiMEP (Biscay Marine Energy Platform) test site, which is 2 miles offshore with a water depth of 85 m and is expected to go into operation 3Q-2022.

Boa like to thank stakeholders Noatum Logistics and Mammoet for excellent workmanship and collaboration.
