किम्भदन्तिके अनुसार जब शिवजी कि श्रीमती सत्यवती जो येक साधारण मनुष्य थी मृत्यु हो जानेके वाद आफ्नो श्रीमती लाशलाइ लेकर जब शिवजी हिमालयकि ओर चल पदे चल्ते चल्ते सत्यवतिका मृत शरीर गल्ने लागि और जहा-जहाँ उन्के शरीरके तुक्रे गिरा उन जगहोपे आज भी ........नाथके नामो से तिर्थ स्थान मौजुद है.... छायानाथ उसथिर्थ स्थलका नाम है जहाँ शिवजीने अपनी सत्यवतिका बचाहुआ अन्तिम शरीरके तुक्रेका अन्तिम संस्कार किया और इसि जगह बाँस करनेकी सोची और रारा तालका निर्माण किया, अगर ईश तालको गौर से देखेङ्गे तो लगेगाकी इस्से निकल्ने वाली नदि पुर्व कि तरफ होनेका अनुभुती होति है पर अगर राराताल के पानीका निकास पुर्व कि ओरसे होति तो सत्यवतिके अन्तिम संस्कारका समाधी बह जाती इसिलिये शिवजीने तीरसे पानीको पश्चिमसे बहनेका रास्ता खोलदिया और हिन्दु परम्परा अनुसार पश्चिमकि और बहनेकी बजहसे ये ताल आज भी धार्मिक तिर्थस्थलको रुपमे पहिचान नहि हुइ और साथ हि इसके आस-पासके शिवजीके मन्दीर भी ओजेलमे पद्ता गया....... नहितो किम्भदन्ती के हि अनुसार इस रारा तालको एक अप्सरा माना गया है जिसने खुदको तालके रुप धारण करके शिवजीको नहानेका सुविधा देकर खुदको महादेव कि सेवामे समर्पित कर दिया और माना जाता है कि अगर गर्मियो मै शिवजी कैलाश बाँस करते है और ताल मानसरोवर उनका नहानेकी थाल है तो छायानाथ सर्दियोके बाँस स्थान और ताल रारा उनका स्नान कर्नेकी कचौरा है .... और इसका प्रमाण सर्दियोमे कैलाश मान्सरोवरके सभी पन्छीया राराके आस पास देख्ने को मिल्ती है......
रारा-छाया नाथसे थादी उत्तर मै जायेङ्गे तो हुम्ला जिल्ला आता है और खार्पुनाथ का दर्शन कर्णाली नदिके दोभान मऐ कर सक्ते है और इसिके पुर्वकी हिमालके चोतिको कैलाश मन्दाला के सबसे शक्तिशाली चोती ( cristal peak ) है जिस्के पासमे बौद्ध धर्मावलम्बीहरुको महान और हजार वर्षसे भी पुराना रलिङ्ग घुम्बा है और खार्पुनाथ के थोरी उत्तरमै हुम्ला जिल्लाका सदरमुकाम जिसे शिर्श सदरमुकाम भी कहाँ जाता है और आजकल इसे कैलाश मानसरोवरको प्रवेश द्वार भी माना जाता है.......
इसिलिय कर्णाली मै छुत्तिया सिर्फ मनमोहक और रोमान्चकहि नहि धार्मिक तिर्थ स्थलोका भी दर्शन हो जाती है
