The group is created by people who had FCPS degree from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan The first examination of DCPS is scheduled on 2 March 2006.

The main functions of the College are:
The promotion of the practice of general medicine, surgery and other specialties, and conduct examinations for the award of postgraduate Fellowship / Diploma of FCPS and MCPS. The College offers admission to the Fellowship of the College in 65 specialties / sub-specialties and MCPS in 20 specialties. The College has now discontinued its Membership diploma pro

gram and replaced it with the Diploma of the College, DCPS, offering it in 1 specialties. The College organizes postgraduate training of the candidates in accredited/recognized hospitals throughout the country and conducts subsequent examinations. To achieve its objectives, the Council of the College has constituted four Committees to work for continued expansion and progress of this College. The College not only encourages qualitative expansion of the curriculum but also of education, associated teachers, supervisors, advisory services, monitoring and evaluation of training, teaching methodologies and examination system. Upto March 2004 5744 MCPS and 5972 FCPS have graduated from this College. In order to improve the overall educational and research methodology, the College regularly holds a variety of workshops and courses. Upto March 2004 the College has held 1667 programs which benefited about 25,000 senior medical professionals and allied healthcare personnel. The CPSP provides learning facilities to other medical institutions as well. As part of these activities and to determine the needs and bases for continuing medical education program, the CPSP also holds national and international conferences and joint meetings with sister institutions. These scientific discussions help in bringing the fellows, academicians and medical experts at a joint forum to exchange experience in different fields of medical science. On March 7, 2004, the College held a joint meeting with Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons at Karachi in which over 300 delegates from Bangladesh and 1000 from Pakistan participated. This event contributed a great deal in the advancement of medical science in both the countries. objectives:
To Promote specialist practice of medicine, surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics and such other specialities by securing improvement of teaching and training in hospitals and Hospital methods. To arrange postgraduate medical, surgical and other specialist's training;
To hold and conduct examinations for grant of diplomas and admission to the Fellowship of the College;
To provide for research;
To bring together the physicians, surgeons and other specialists of Pakistan periodically for scientific discussions and practical demonstrations of various subjects;
To do all acts and things as it may consider necessary to carry out the purposes of this Ordinance.

We have been running FCPS Residency Program in Neurosurgery for the last 5 years, our first student Dr Dinuj Shrestha got Gold Medal & is working in Patan Academy of Science, 2 of our resident is taking thier final exam this month and at present 9 Docotors are studying with us. They do not have to pay any fee and we actually pay them salary for their work / study. They get to learn from basics Neurosurgery to most advanced technique and are fully enjoying their training life in a friendly enviroment.
Now we are ready to start program in Anasthesiology, Radiology and Orthopedic Surgery. We plan to take 2 resident in each speciality total 8, in January. If you are interested, prepare from TODAY & apply. We promise to give you world class training in our Institute.
