" Through My Third Eye "
Entry free, 10am-5pm
Prominent artist Pramila Giri is showcasing her exhibition titled "Through My Third Eye" at Nepal Art Council from September 30th to October 20th, 2023.
The exhibition opens on the first floor with eight new large oil colour canvasses. The 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 feet paintings capture the room. The most dominant are Goddess Bhairavi and Lord Bhairav paintings. She wants to bring all her artworks to Nepal. Her ´Nandi´ sculpture, in walnut, is a well articulated example. This exhibition features also selected artwork from her previous exhibitions in 2016 and 2018 at NAC in the large upstairs Bagmati Gallery.
Pramila draws inspiration first of all from her solid Nepali cultural roots with her Lord Bhairav masks also combined with paintings. But she also creates series of paintings based on her diverse life experiences in various natural and living environments, particularly reflected in her 'Images of Tibet' and 'Images of Impressions' series. Her paintings capture environmental atmospheres and the beauty of life. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid period, she continued to create by experimenting with black and white ink drawings at home, presenting ten framed drawings in this exhibition.
Don't miss the chance to witness her powerful paintings, characterized by vibrant colors and depictions of Bhairav and Shiva in various expressions.
Open to all, free entry, 11am-5pm.

She passionately explores her cultural roots, drawing inspiration from Lord Shiva, which has been a constant presence in her life.
