Basanta Tamang started playing football from 2063 B.S . He represented the Three Star Club at the U14 level in 2067. Basanta used to play with his seniors, who helped him join the age group team.

In 2070, he represented Khalibari FC in the C division, but was unfortunately injured and could not further play in the event. Despite his injuries, his persistence, sheer discipline, and determination led him to a speedy recovery, and he started playing for Satdobato Youth Club in 2072.

Basanta emphasizes the importance of futsal in his career and for his personal development, and shares how playing futsal has significantly improved his footwork and made him a quick player.(source-Healthy Futsal Pvt. Ltd. )
