Congratulations, Jenuka and Samjhana! 🎓 After Covid delays, 26,000 graduates set a Guinness World Records for the largest graduation ceremony on December 18th! Jenuka and Samjhana took part in the ceremony and it is wonderful to officially celebrate their achievements. ✨

Congratulations, Sajan Shakya on your beautiful wedding! We are so happy for you and the life that you have built. And, of course, family from Ama Ghar and the Ama Foundation board had a fabulous time celebrating!

Ama Ghar Displaced Children Fund Many children were orphaned or displaced by disastrous 2015 earthquakes in Nepal. Ama Foundation worked with anti-trafficking organizations and the Nepal government to help find these children a safe home. Since 2015, we have taken 30 new children into our home, which can house 75 children - but we....

Congrats to Badiram, Leela, Jeevan and Ramit for their wins in their interschool futsal competition! And Ramit scored the most goals! ⚽️🏆

A group of Ama Ghar children went to the bounce house during Dashain vacation and it's safe to say they had a GREAT time. Thank you to our supporters who make outings like this one possible.

Congratulations Sabin, Rosina, and Ajay! They passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) which qualifies them to move on to higher education in Nepal. We, of course, had a party to celebrate! One of the highlights each year — rice planting! 🌾The kids had so much fun planting the rice and playing in the mud. After planting, they organized some singing and dancing, and enjoyed some well-deserved cold refreshments. A fun day, as always!

Making momos at Ama Ghar! The kids worked hard and the end result was beautiful *and* delicious.

The best way to end your day: Chocolate Meditation. The kids loved this activity, and they were good at it too! You just have to let the chocolate sit and melt in your mouth. No chewing!

Ajay, Rosina, and Sabin participated in Quest Trek in Langtang Himal. It was an amazing session where they made new friends, had meditation sessions, played group games, and discussed their aim and goals for their future. The trek helped them build self confidence, discipline, self-motivation, and leadership. And they clearly had a lot of fun, too!

When life gives you flowers, make flower crowns! 🌼 Such a fun activity to make flower crowns from the beautiful flowers growing at Ama Ghar.

“You are not a genie, but you made our wishes come true.” 💫 Rekha wrote a beautiful poem for Bonnie and we’re so excited to share it here. Rekha loves to read, and is proving to be quite the writer too!

Welcome Bipana! Bipana is our newest arrival at Ama Ghar. She was burned at 5 years old and lost most of her right arm due to infection. She is now 14 years old and has adjusted to Ama Ghar living after one week with us. She seems to be very sweet, confident, and a very serious student.

Potato Harvest! 🥔🥔🥔 it was a fun day and lots of hard work — everyone dug and hauled potatoes. And now we get to reap the rewards!

We love having visitors at Ama Ghar! Recently, our friends from Ama Ghar Suisse came to visit and organized a fun activity for the kids to make masks. They loved it. Just look at the smile on Maya's face!
