सामाजिक विकास कार्यालय कास्कीकाे अायाेजना तथा बालहितकारी परियाेजना नेपाल र जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय कास्कीकाे समन्वयमा माध्यमिक तहमा अध्यापनरत शिक्षकहरुका लागि २ दिने अात्महत्या राेकथाम तथा न्यूनीकरण सम्बन्धी सचेतना कार्यक्रम सम्पन्न भएको छ । उक्त कार्यक्रममा जीवन उपयोगी सीप शिक्षा कार्यक्रम सन्चालन भएकाे २८ बिद्यालयका २८ जना शिक्षकहरुकाे सहभागिता रहेकाे छ । कार्यक्रममा जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय कास्की, पश्चिमान्चल क्षेत्रीय हस्पिटल , एकद्वार संकट व्यवस्थापन केन्द्र , काेशिष नेपाल तथा किडाशा बाट विभिन्न सत्रहरुमा सहजीकरण भएकाे थियाे । समन्वय र सहकार्यका लागि जिल्ला सामाजिक बिकास कार्यालय कास्की प्रर्ति हार्दिक अाभार व्यक्त गर्दछाै।

CWSN has been conducting Motivational Sessions with the students of 60 government schools in pokhara under its Life Skills Education Project(LSEP) since 2017. The aim of the sessions are to over come from the challanges, in the stage of rapid changes occur in the biological, psychological and social development of an adolescent.

CWSN along with the Pokhara Metropolitan City and the OPDs jointly celebrated the rally and the greetings exchange program this morning on the occasion of the 32nd International Day of Disabled Persons in Pokhara Nepal. The rally marched from PMC office to the Pokhara Convention hall, weaving the slogan " United in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by persons with disabilities" on this special day. At the end of this program, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Pokhara including the Executive Director of CWSN and other speakers expressed best wishes and congratulated all persons with disabilities. The speakers also committed to work for betterment of PwDs.

The Deputy Mayor of Byas Municipality and the majority of Ward Chairpersons appreciated the activity conducted by the Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) for last 5 months under the "Empowering the Persons with Disabilities in Tanahun" project.

Back to Back Advocacy and review meeting in Tanahun. Today, we organized this meeting in Shukla Gandaki Municipality with the 45 Participants.

Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) organized a project "Empowering the Person with Disabilities in Tanahun" review meeting with the beneficiaries in Myagde Rural Municipalities on 3rd November 2023. There were 87 participants including the Chairperson of Myagde Rural Municipality, Ward Chairpersons, representatives of Local governments, persons with disabilities, the member of Self Help Groups, Civil Society Organizations, Female Community Health Workers, Parents of CwDs and the member of Tole Development Committees. During the meeting, participants also discussed the upcoming plans for the PwDs through municipality and CWSN. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Thakur Prasad Chapagain, the Executive Director of CWSN.

Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) pleased to welcome Ms. and Mr. Waterman, the Trustee of Kidasha (UK based charity organization for children) on 31st October, 2023 at CWSN. The Kidasha one of the major partner of CWSN since it's establishment in 1997.

The 23rd Annual General Meeting(AGM) of the Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) was successfully held on October 11th at Nayagaun Pokhara. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ramchadra Sharma, Acting Chairperson of CWSN, and the chief guest was Mr. Toran Bahadur Baniya, Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 15. Representatives from KIDASHA, Education Department of PMC, and the NGO Federation, Jyoti Child Club were also present. The program was hosted by Mr. Dil Bahadur Bhattrai, the secretary of CWSN.

Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) along with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR) jointly conducted the home visits of the Children with Disabilities in Kaski and Tanahun from 17th to 21 September 23. During the visits, they observed 2 children both boys in Pokhara, 5 Children (3 boys 2 girls) in Tanahun and provided their recommendations to the parents/ caretakers for Communication practice, use of AAC, assistive devices and importance of regular therapies to improve the condition of children with disabilities.

On 18th September 2023, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN) jointly organised a Training on Supporting Children with Complex Communication needs. In the training 8 persons from CUHK, 7 from CWSN and an OT expert from Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation (HKSR) participated. Professors Valerie and Peggy facilitated the training.

Yesterday's quarterly meeting was a remarkable session with our dedicated Community Advocates (CAs) focused on birth registration. A big thanks to Advocate Kunjani Pariyar Pyasi for leading the discussion and willingness to provide legal support for children's identity issues. We discussed legal provisions, processes, and challenges. We are grateful for the valuable insights shared by our 12 dedicated CAs.

CWSN has distributed Toys and Assistive Materials for Children with Autism in Pokhara. A total 20 Children have received Toys and Assistive Materials. This program was supported by the State Ministry of Social Development and Health, Gandaki Province. The program was chaired by Mr. Dil Bahadur Bhattarai, the Secretary of CWSN and the Chief Guests Mr. Hem Raj Subedi, Province secretary at Ministry of Social Development and Health, distributed the items.

CWSN organized the Life Skills Education Program "Wrap-up Meeting" on 4 April 2023. 30 Head Teachers and Representatives from Education Department of PMC participated in the meeting. The Program was chaired by the Chairperson of CWSN, Mr. Govinda Raj Pahari, the Chife Guest was Mr. Hem Prasad Acharya and especially guests from Kidasha and Department of Education were expressed their views on impact of LSE program implementaed by CWSN from 2019 to 2022.

Project Name – Community-Based Child Protection Project
Location – Pokhara Metropolitan City (PMC)
Duration – 1 year

Key Responsibilities:
Implementation of a child-friendly local governance support program including advocacy, capacity-building, and coordination with stakeholders in PMC.

Eligibility:
• Bachelor's degree in social science or relevant disciplines
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of social sector, especially working with local government bodies and communities
• Knowledge of child protection and legal provisions
• Excellent communication, coordination, networking, facilitation and reporting skills
• Flexible and able to work under pressure
• Proficient in MS Office
• Valid 2-wheeler driving license

Qualified candidates ages of 19 to 45 years are invited to apply with a cover letter and updated CV, including expected salary by April 4th , 2023 via email to [email protected]. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and interview. Local candidates and those from disadvantaged groups are highly encouraged to apply. The ‘Facilitation Tools Development and Presentation Skill Training’ program under the capacity building and extra responsibilities management program for focal teachers has been completed with high and positive attendance of participants and expected achievement. All the participating focal teachers were divided into 3 special groups in the program conducted by CWSN with the financial and technical support of Kidasha. The closing ceremony of the 2-day training for each group was chaired by Mr. Govindraj Pahari, President of CWSN, and Mr. Thakur Prasad Chapagai, Executive Director and senior journalist Shyam Kunwar were presented at the closing ceremony. Hem Prasad Acharya, Director of the Education Division of Pokhara Metropolitan City, and Sanjay Atreya, LSE Project Manager of Kidasha, were presented to evaluate the propriety of the program. A total of 66 people including 60 focal teachers from 30 schools and 6 facilitators from the organization participated in the program. The training of the whole program was done by Mr. Bhaktaraj Rasaili sir. We would like to express our special gratitude to all the participants, trainers, special invitees, and representatives of the organization.

On 15th of February 2023, Shivashakti Tole Child Club which is one of the active club supported by CWSN, conducted the home visit campaign on the issues of birth registration and its importance. During the campaign a total 22 child club members visited 200 households and shared information about birth registration in that Tole, ward no 15, Pokhara.
