There’s a well-known link about what you eat and how you feel, which is we're supporting Mental Health Awareness Week. And this year's theme is particularly relevant.

The theme, Community is… what we create together, was inspired by research into the wellbeing of people affected by 2023's weather events.

Some of our producers and growers experienced significant challenges as their farms, orchards and paddocks were damaged and deliveries delayed. For some of our artisans, the impact is still being felt today yet they continue to show amazing resilience.

If you're looking for resources to help your mental health, visit Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.

It’s no secret we love the deliciously tasty food and drink produced in Aotearoa New Zealand as it makes life good - and elevates any meal! But shopping locally is more than that.

When our amazing customers support small business and the local economy, we are also able to contribute in meaningful ways, as do our artisan community.

For example Jodi, from Auntie Jodi’s Baking Co. is taking part in the Terry Fox Run. This is a global fundraiser close to Jodi’s heart as it originated in Canada, her hometown. The run brings people together to help raise awareness and money for cancer research in NZ.

This year's event is taking place on 15 September in Auckland and Christchurch. There's no entry fee and no minimum fundraising requirement, and there's still time to register. If you have any questions, head over to Terry Fox Run NZ!

Everything is cut and made to order by this award-winning butcher using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. And when it comes to shipping, be reassured that a lot of thought goes into the packaging so it arrives perfectly.

If you’re not sure what to get, we highly recommend the beef brisket pastrami. It’s made with NZ grassfed beef, a few secret ingredients, and finished with a pohutukawa smoke. It tastes great on its own, in sandwiches, as a pizza topping - anyway you like really!

Felicity from Bobby Boy’s has returned from her overseas search for the very best cacao available to make her premium drinking cacao! During her travels, she explored centuries-old cacao farms and witnessed the harvest. Take a look at some of her photos.

The cacao fruit produces pods that contain cacao beans, and it is these beans that undergo processing to become chocolate and other products.

If you didn't know cacao is rich in antioxidants, magnesium, and iron. It can help reduce inflammation, improve heart and brain health, regulate blood sugar, and even boost your mood.

Bobby Boy's Cacao is made in Kohukohu and is a unique blend of raw organic cacao with coconut nectar sugar that can be used in beverages and other gastronomy delights. Order yours at https://bit.ly/bobbyboyscacao.

We're a few days late, but we still think it’s worth toasting to International Pinot Noir Day!

As one of the world’s most versatile wines, Pinot Noir has the ability to take on the flavours of where it’s grown – and there’s no doubt that New Zealand’s Pinot Noir offers something special.

Head to https://bit.ly/TGFCpinotnoir to explore our unique cellar and gourmet food options. We're proud to only showcase deliciously tasty items that have been made locally!

🍷 Happy International Pinot Noir Day! 🍇

Wind the clock back 20 years and Pinot Noir was barely known, let alone grown, in New Zealand. But today there are plenty of reasons to celebrate the variety, and today on International Pinot Noir Day, you can do just that.

Falling in the middle of the New Zealand winter, International Pinot Noir Day is the perfect time to honour a variety that enjoys a heart-warming history here. Although first planted in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand’s North Island back in 1883, it wasn’t until the late 1980s that the popularity of the Pinot Noir variety started to bloom. The accolades at local wine shows began to roll in and by the 1990s, things had started to heat up internationally. Gold medals were won in Australia, then London, and murmurings of a potential new Pinot powerhouse began travelling around the globe 🌏

Since then, the rest of the world has woken up to the fact that New Zealand Pinot Noir is something else. It’s fruity, softer and more expressive than wine produced in the grape’s native home of Burgundy, and thanks to the huge diversity in climates and soils throughout New Zealand’s Pinot Noir regions, there’s also a wide range of styles.

So let's raise a glass to New Zealand Pinot Noir, and show us how you're celebrating on and !
