Wow, Huge thanks to Bayswater and our wonderful neighbours and beyond for the incredible enthusiasm, creativity, and ghoulish good-humor that made the Bayswater Halloween Trail a remarkable success!
This marked the ninth year and largest community Halloween celebration by DPT, with over three and a half thousand attendees.

Such a fantastic event wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support of our volunteers and community partners. Special thanks to Harcourts for their sponsorship, Devonport Drama for the epic Zombie run, Sophie and her brilliant team of riddle creators, Ali and her husband cat, the mighty Lions team, Devonport Youth Forum, the volunteer fire brigade, Bayswater whānau group, our dedicated volunteer DPT Board Members, Nigel for the sound equipment and getting stuck in, Paul from Devonport Electrical, Brad from the golf club, Aloi, and all those who lent a hand with decorations. And last but not least, our five incredible event staff who went above and beyond to make this the best one yet. Aroha ki to mahi

We're also grateful to the Devonport Takapuna Local Board for their generous funding, and we've heard the voices of those eager to ensure this signature event continues.

Let's keep the Halloween spirit alive!
Our regular photographer was volunteering on a trail activity, so please share your event pictures on social media and tag us in your posts.
It truly was an incredible vibe, wasn't it?
Happy Halloween you beautiful community!

What a weekend in Te Hau Kapua celebrating Matariki!✨✨

There are so many people to thank - Firstly, To our performers:
✨The tamariki who were little stars and made the sky shine so bright.
✨Te Hau Kapua Kapa Haka - (whom I had the privilege to be part of) a massive heartfelt thank you for giving it everything, A Kapa haka made up of people who constantly give to the community, gave it heaps on stage! An incredible journey with you all. ❤️
✨Sanggar Pertiwi Auckland, the Indonesian dance group who stunned the crowd with their beautiful performance and costumes - thank you for sharing your culture through dance with us.
✨The Westlake Boys Kapa haka group - The Swans - wow, you were powerful and blew us all away.

This day would not have been so special or possible without our Mareikura Terehia Walker and Manukura Ngahiwi. So hard to put into words the gratitude we all have for your generosity. Such a busy day for these two, co ordinating the school kapa haka at the terminal (Ka pai Te hau Kapua kura, you were all amazing!) cooking up the delicious hangi at Devonport Community House and gifting their time over 10 weeks to form the first ever adult Kapa Haka of Te Hau kapua!
He mihi aroha.

Thanks also to the North Harbour water polo team for the candy floss sugar hit, The 1st Devonport scouts for cooking up a storm, and food trucks -The corner, Tasty as, and Ice cream social.
Brush and Sparkles Face Painting Services - the tamariki looked fabulous, and every kid there had a sparkle.
Devonport Market for providing a great selection for late night shopping, Restoring Takarunga Hauraki for raising awareness and providing some green for the stage, Kathryn Nobbs Photography for gifting your time and talent to provide these incredible photos, (Too hard to choose from) The brother Geoff from The Rose centre, who brings light wherever he goes, but for actually bringing lights for the stage, and our No. 1 Volunteer Aloi Moataane, who we treasure - Thank you to you all.

Lastly and most importantly - a huge thank you to everyone that came out and joined the fun at our Matariki Gathering in the brisk evening, we do it for you ❤️
He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata.
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is the people, It is the people, It is the people.

Special mention to Devonport-Takapuna Local, DBA, and Pub Charity for their funding support.

With love, from the DPT whānau

Tēnā koutou katoa

On the 22nd of June, Devonport Takapuna Local Board (DTLB) gave Te Hau Kapua Devonport Peninsula Trust (DPT) eight days’ notice that it would not be funding any of the Trust’s programmes or events.
With this foundational funding suddenly withdrawn, the trustees, all volunteers, regretfully had to begin formal discussions with staff and stakeholders about DPT’s future.
