We had another Golf 7 GTI Clubsport in for a APR stage 1 setup.

On this car we did:
- APR stage 1 ecu remap on 95 octane fuel taking power to 357bhp and 496nm torque
- APR panel filter

This car is back with us next week to upgrade to a stage 2 APR ECU file with crackles in sport mode. We will also fit a Milltek downpipe. Stage 2 APR on 95 octane fuel takes power up to 377bhp and 546nm torque.

APR looks to be one of the most popular options with Clubsport/ED40 owners in NZ. Having done multiple of these cars, they are definately the enthusiast's choice. Feel free to chat to the owners for some first hand feedback on how they perform, don't just take our word for it.

If you don't know the Clubsport/ED40's, they share the same engine and IS38 turbo as the MK7 R, front wheel drive (lighter) with a oem L*D to help with traction. What that translates to is a really fun toy!

Expect gains of 56bhp and 107nm torque over stock on the 98 octane file.

Any stage 1 or above ECU remap qualifies one entry into the competition. This includes APR and in-house software.

Those who do a TCU remap as part of the initial ECU remap will recieve a bonus entry.

We opted for the 98 octane file on this one. Pushing power up to 310bhp and 420nm.

That's around 80bhp and 120nm torque gain over stock! Well worth it.

Finished som**hing a bit special this week. A VW Golf 7 GTI Clubsport (edition 40) in for APR STAGE 3 DTR6054 TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM. As you know it runs the Golf 7 R engine and turbo from factory, with FWD and L*D. A fun car to say the least!

This is APR's mid range ballbearing turbo upgrade, with the emphasis on maintaining torque levels to safe limits of the factory internals, whilst still giving you a big increase in horsepower.

Mid range is by no means mid level power. It takes power up to 422bhp on the 98 octane file.

This setup still runs full factory fueling. More power is achievable with the addition of fuel pump upgrades and different fuel maps. This turbo is by no means maxed out.

We fitted:
- APR DTR6054 turbo kit.
- APR spark plugs
- APR coils
- Milltek Turboback system
- Ramair Intake

Next on the list is APR charge pipe, APR throttle pipe, and APR intercooler.

With 261bhp (286bhp on temporary factory overboost function) and 350nm stock. The stage 1 APR remap bumps power up to 370bhp and 520nm torque.

As you may or may not know, the Clubsport is no ordinary GTI. It runs the same engine as the MK7 R with same IS38 turbo. Utilising a L*D from factory. With less weight than the R, it really is som**hing special.

We've done a few of these Clubsport/Edition 40's and can happily say, it's always smiles.
