Last week, the Christchurch team gathered to celebrate embodying our OMD values with a well deserved day of battle axe throwing and good kai. We started with a brief business update and a creativity & innovation workshop, then crowned our champions. What an incredible day with the team and congrats to our Trike winners!! 🪓🥇

Last week Nigel hosted a discussion on Collaboration with Sinead Boucher from Stuff and Juliet Peterson from Warner Brothers Discovery. There’s been a huge amount of change in our industry this year and it was insightful and inspiring to hear how these organisations are working together to work through it!

What an incredible experience for these OMD boys. They won the Young Lions NZ competition and thanks to were flown out to Cannes, France to experience Cannes International Festival of Creativity and participate in the Global Young Lions competition.

When asked about highlights from the week, this is what they had to say:

🔦 Meeting all the talented young lions from around the world and hearing some of their challenges and learnings from other markets.

🤝 Meeting so many influential people in media and learning how creativity is driving the industry. The scale of everything was quite eye opening to be honest!

🗣️ Listening to how Heinz ensurance of creative exellence is likely and not “lucky”.

🥇 Witnessing OMD win global media network of the year and saw some great Kiwi campaigns on the world stage

📝 Spending a few hours in the “basement” in Palais, exploring work that defines innovation and inspiration!

Before we headed out for the long weekend, the Auckland office created handmade stars that represented those they have either lost in the last year (a remembrance), or stars to celebrate whānau and friends in the present.

We then place these stars in seperate spaces of the office. 💛

Wishing everyone was able to experience the rising of Matariki, and used the time to: remember those that have passed during the year, celebrate the present with feasting, games, and joyful activities, and look forward to the year ahead ✨

What a night! The OMD beer pong competition was unforgettable… unless you had one too many, then it’s a bit of a blur! 🍻😆 huge shoutout to the team for making it all possible. Everyone nailed the “Dynamic Duos” theme! Who’s your favourite? 👯👯‍♀️

From tribal councils to team challenges, our four teams were put to the ultimate test as they navigated trials of balance (egg & spoon race), problem solving (jigsaw puzzle), creativity (create your own mascot), speed (boat race) and teamwork / spirit (stack cup)

Our Auckland office hosted a Pink Ribbon Breakfast last week to raise funds for Breast Cancer Awareness. Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women, with 1 in 9 women diagnosed with it in their lifetime. By supporting pink ribbon breakfast, you’re raising funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research💕💗💖💞💓🌸🎀🦩

John Buckley (CDO OMD New Zealand), Alisha Dixon (Social Strategist), and Anthony Dever (Head of Brand & Creative TikTok AUNZ) presented in Wellington with discussion around trends, platforms, insights & content.

Our guest speaker, Anthony, then lead a deep dive into TikTok creative. He showed case studies from around the globe for creative inspiration, before revealing tips and tricks of how to re-cut existing footage for TikTok, re-edit creative to suit TikTok moving forward, and re-imagine how you can approach a TikTok-first campaign for maximum impact.

Empowered and prepared! 💪🔒 the OMD team in the Wellington office had an incredible experience undertaking a Krav Magar Tactical Self-Defence course with Andre at NZ self Defence Academy. From close quarters defence to escaping challenging situations, they’ve learnt the art of protecting themselves. Ready to face any obstacle head-on! 🥋🙌

After securing the title of Campaign’s NZ Media Agency of the Year an incredible nine times in the last decade, we are thrilled to announce that we’ve just received a Silver award in Campaign’s GLOBAL Media AOTY awards. Out of thousands of media agencies worldwide, this victory places us as the second highest performing media agency in the WORLD! 🥈 🌏

Last Friday we had a very first OMD Dodgeball Competition!! Our house teams went up against one another on the court, getting some afternoon sun and exercise in a fun and collaborative way ⚽️🏀🏐 a massive congratulations to our red team FARFFLER who took the trophy home ❤️♥️❣️

Stress Awareness Week Day 5! We finished off the week with a delcioso BBQ for the office including sausies, burgers, chicken nibbles and a variety of vege options. Nothing quite brings people together like a shared lunch 👪👪

Stress awareness week, day 4️⃣❤️ today we catered to people’s spiritual well-being with assorted crystals designed to have anti-anxiety and stress effects as well as hot cocoa and colouring templates to zone out with 🎨🔮

Day 3 of stress awareness week: Yoga and smoothie bowls from .and.arrow 🧘‍♀️🧘🧘‍♂️🥤

Yoga is also known for being relaxing and easing stress. It can help improve mental health by reducing symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety because it decreases the levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

Followed by delicious smoothie bowls to give us the best possible start to our day and feeling amaze-bowls

Today is a very special day for OMD as the network celebrates 25 years in business.
From a humble beginning with just three employees in the first office in Hong Kong, OMD has grown to 2,400 staff in 13 APAC offices and 12,000 in 100+ countries worldwide.

Pride Month!! At OMD we celebrated equality, self-affirmation and increased visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community. This included weekly informative emails, a Pride playlist for the office, rainbow ally training thanks to the amazing and wrapping it up with a Pride party! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Thanks .and.arrow for coming to our office last week for ! We started off the morning with a yoga session followed by the most delicious healthy breakfast bowls and smoothies! 🧘🏽‍♂️🧘🏻🍒🍓🍇🍑🍌🥑 as a low impact exercise, yoga has been shown to lower stress hormones in our bodies which helps decrease anxiety and improves your mood. Sign me up!!
