Aroha mai, aroha atu - Ko tenei te whakatauki oo Middlemore Foundation. Aroha mai, aroha atu" is the guiding whakatauki of the Middlemore Foundation, translating to "love received, love given." It encompasses compassion and empathy, resonating across: Te Tinana, the Physical Te Wairua, the Spirit Te Hinengaro, the Mind Te Tangata, the Person It serves as a reminder that love is a force we both receive and have the power to give, enriching the lives of all we touch. Throughout the year, the spirit of "Aroha mai, aroha atu" shines through the generosity of our donors and volunteers. For example our knitters lovingly create garments and blankets for pepi in our community and at our Hospital. The recipients feel this love, knowing it was given with aroha. #tewikiotereomaori

Analina is a Health Science Academies student with FOU: The Future is Open to Us. She talks to us about why the Middlemore Foundation Health Science Scholarships, FOU and the Health Science Academy are important to encourage Pacific youth into health careers and why we need Pacific representation in health care. “I think its super important for more Pacific people to enter into the healthcare workforce. It is very important to have people who look like you, know where you come from and what your values are, to serve as role models and leaders for other Pacific people who want to enter into the workforce. “ Click here to learn more: https://www.middlemorefoundation.org.nz/health-science-scholarships
