We couldn’t resist sharing this heartfelt note from a patient’s daughter to her mum’s awesome care team. It beautifully reflects the care and dedication from everyone involved in her recovery – from the hardworking cleaners and compassionate nurses to the skilled physios and doctors. Messages like this are a heartwarming reminder of the incredible team effort that we’re proud to support through the Foundation.
Every stitch tells a story🧶 One of our amazing knitters has sewn these beautiful words into her cosy blankets for our tamariki. We're so grateful to our incredible community of generous souls who send in mountains of knitted, sewn, crocheted, quilted and other crafted warmth every day. You help keep our little ones wrapped in love. ❤️

On this official last week of winter, the final pair of jammies has been delivered—to the 25,883rd child!
When Dame Valerie set the target with us at 15,000, we thought it might be a bit of a stretch, but together, we absolutely smashed it! Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this campaign. You’ve warmed up winter for 25,883 children.

🌟 This beautiful mother and her baby have spent more time in Kidz First Hospital than at home, but we were able to bring a little comfort to their day. Thanks to the generosity of Chemist Warehouse, we were able to provide this mum with a bundle of care products for both her and her little one. 💕
Her response says it all: "This is just wonderful, thank you so much. 😊" Huge thanks to for supporting our Kidz First whaanau.

These young Pacific leaders, like Lino, embody the core Tongan values of Fefaka'apa'apa'aki (mutual respect), Feveitokai'aki (sharing, cooperation, and fulfillment of mutual obligations), Lototoo (humility and generosity), and Tauhi vaha'a (loyalty and commitment). Lino is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Health Science with the dream of becoming an oncologist and working for his Pacific community.

Dame Valerie's Jammie Army is growing! Huge thanks to all these wonderful squads for bringing so many jammies to us this week! We have loved seeing our friends from Cockle Bay Primary, Ormiston Primary, Pakuranga Park Village, Mission Heights Junior College, Health NZ, and Sunnyhills Primary
Every day, our dedicated NICU staff at Middlemore Hospital work closely with our tiniest patients and their families. Having witnessed the positive impact of our Jammies for June campaign year after year, they always step up to support the cause.
This year, our NICU team organized their own PJ Day, raising funds for the campaign. Don’t they look fantastic in their cosy pajamas?
Family Liaison Nurse Abby shared, "Last year's Jammies for June campaign inspired us to join in once again. Seeing all our families receive such needed donations is always incredible. The families are deeply grateful, and it means so much to know that the children are warm and comfortable each night."

As we enter June we are thrilled to receive these generous donations of warm winter pjs for our tamariki from the incredible Chi Foundation and Mahatma Gandhi Centre/Auckland Indian Association. These amazing groups have been valued members of our Jammie Army for years, and we are immensely grateful for their support. Thanks to their contributions, we now have a wonderful collection of jammies to distribute to our patients just in time for winter!
Fourteen-month-old Jayson was rushed to Kidz First Hospital by ambulance with breathing difficulties, a high fever, and a racing heart. His mom, Sonya, was terrified as her normally active and chatty baby lay subdued in bed. She hates seeing him in the hospital but fears it won't be his last visit this winter.

The Inaugural Jammie Cup was a resounding success on Thursday at Middlemore Hospital!
We challenged Middlemore staff across Counties Manukau to see which department could donate the most jammies (relative to team size) and earn the honour of being the first to have their name engraved on the Jammie Cup. The response was nothing short of amazing, with over 800 jammies collected from our dedicated staff who understand the profound impact this initiative has on our tamariki in the community.
🏆 Congratulations to the winning team: Community Health Services from Mangere! 🏆
This incredible Squad donated an impressive 6.3 jammies per staff member! When asked what inspired their remarkable efforts, and they shared:
"Our commitment to Jammies for June stems from our work which is strongly connected to the core of community care, where our team of nurses and allied health professionals see people in their own surroundings. We witness a chilly reality: our homes can often be too cold for our kids contributing to high rates of respiratory illness and rheumatic fever. By rallying together with our community, we wanted to bring warmth and well-being to every child - one pair of jammies at a time".
It was truly awesome to see such a fantastic turnout from our staff for this worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who participated - you know first-hand the difference your efforts will make in our community!
Help us support kids like Kayshav!
Jammies for June Ambassador Dame Valerie Adams recently visited Kayshav at Kidz First, wearing protective gear because he was in isolation due to his severe asthma. She learned first-hand about his harrowing battle and his story is a reminder of the challenges many children face.
We're raising funds to help keep kids like Kayshav warm. Your donation can make a real difference. Read Kayshav's full story and find out how you can help here: https://www.middlemorefoundation.org.nz/post/kayshav-7
