The QR code will be on top of the lids for the coming weeks, simply scan the code which directs you to our page, click on our phone number & save us as a new contact.

Welcome to get us to guide you through a test order & we’ll save your preferred coffee and we can sort the rest.

There’s a few more positive enhancements to come as we bed down the system.

Scan our QR in-store or save 020-4090-0655 into WhatsApp contact, pop your name and fav coffee and it will be ready on arrival.

After your first order we will save your first name and favourite brew so it’s smooth sailing.

Keeping it simple with WhatsApp “for now”

With our App provider closing down on Friday we’ve been searching for alternatives with no luck to date for an appropriate option.

We’ve opened up a WhatsApp business page, simply save us as Cigana Espresso, send your coffee order via WhatsApp and this will pop up on our laptop.

Sometimes simple works and as we had short notice of our provider closing we’ve been scrambling for the right option moving forward.

Once this beds in we’ll save your favourite coffee and your name to speed things up, once your Coffee is saved simply flick us a message “one usual please” if you want to add extras just say 🤳

We know this wasn’t the ideal outcome but navigating Apps that work for our needs hasn’t been an easy one to find.

With spring almost upon us we’re about to refresh the planter boxes thanks to our friends at Busy Lizzy 🌹

Supporting local businesses is part of our DNA so it was humbling when they wanted to refresh our storefront.

Nooooooooo we are gutted to receive an email from the owners of the App that has been part of our journey for 13 years.

We were first to market 13 years ago with this App and will deep dive into an alternative ASAP.

We will take a screen grab of the backend where our loyal followers have credit and ensure everyone is square once they shut it down.

Don’t panic the ginger hustler will find a new way forward with our technology offering once an alternative is sorted.

We’ve been building our in-store bakery collection throughout the year but we’re not done yet.

Kicking off the week with a little old school ham, Dijon mustard & Swiss cheese croissants.

Accompany these our classic smoked bacon, onion & cheese toasties or our signature bap are an easy start for the week.

Bake is on with Anzacs, triple chocolate, macca white chocolate, ginger crunch and shortbread all racked and stacked.

Gluten free raspberry friands are now in-store, these are one of the few products to come from outside of our kitchen to avoid any gluten.

We have these in single packs sealed to ensure their GF status remains.

It’s almost our 25th birthday and if we could summarise it in a couple of pics this is but an intro to the journey since 1999.

Before iPhone3 📱 and before Facebook, snapchat, TikTok, AI and even Trump politics there was a tiny Kiosk where a ginger hustler was keen to make a Euro style deli work ☀️

How many chapters have evolved since then 🙋🏽‍♂️ 297 crew have been part of this, 5 cafes over the journey, 5 million coffees curated, 497 renovations (approx 😂) and we’re still making things evolve.

What a community that has backed us as we navigate the unknown but one thing stays constant…… Community is at the heartbeat of why we do what we do.

Reflecting back to the night before our 25th Birthday week it’s humbling to think how much fun we’ve had over the last 1/4 of a century.

Back in 1999 I had a goal to give this cafe gig a nudge for 5 year and do something else but somehow we’re still here 😍

5 million Coffees latter the journey has been a little longer than expected but heck it’s been fun.

Afternoon bake session with some classics making a comeback shortly.

Layers of vanilla sponge, nz grown raspberry jam and topped with toasted coconut should sort the kids afternoon tea.

Yoyo it’s test day in the kitchen with another classic on the bake for tomorrow.

During the term one holidays we stepped up our game to bring some tradition with a twist and the results have been well received with all our baking coming back in-house.

Tomorrow we celebrate 13 years at Maskell and shortly it’s 25 years across the Cafes (yip last century) in August.
