Our story of our workers ,the new design project and experimentation continues ... Today we like to honour the makers , crafters and artisans who are working on weaving our new clothe. This video is about how @khamircrafts we are collecting plastic bags and others soft waste , transforming it into really funky homewares and wearable art. Whilst we @karishmadesign don’t believe that this is our solution to our plastic consumption issue but whilst trying to figure out how to remove and shift away from plastic, we feel responsible to remove it from landfills and our oceans by prolonging it’s life on earth within human hands, in ways that minimise micro plastic release and still honour our earth . This is a small video our our amazing humans who do this fantastic work #bethechange #fashionrev #circularfashion #circulation #ethicalfashion #consciousness #newcollection #newearth #slowfashion #slowliving #systemchange #artisansofkutch #artisan #craft #recycledfashion #refashioned #remakeourworld #slowfashionmovement #plasticfree

For those of u who have waited patiently to see what the Karishma Design Lab have been playing with ... wait no longer ! Today ad we reflect on the madness of Rana plaza and the colonial systems that feed it , we want to show u a different path is possible . A path forged in love , craft , great wisdoms and sharing . @karishmadesign With @khamircrafts we want to take u on A journey that started 2 years ago with a small group of artisans, farmers, weavers, and dyers . We call this journey “Seed to self” in honour of the lady, Theresa Grantham and our amazing guide Mayur, who shared this space with us. In early 2019, I went to India in search of understanding my heritage Thro kadhi cotton and was led to an even more amazing plant ... what I call the mother of khadi - only because of its age and it’s wisdom. Here the journey began... The journey starts in the Kutch region - an arid , dessert region , with less that 40 cm / year of annual rainfall. Here this amazing indigenous cotton , called Kala cotton is grown by local farmers . So what is this cotton ? It’s the original cotton , over 3000 years old that was originally found in these regions of India . Here is a picture of one of the farmers picking up the cotton. Watch over the next few posts as I unfold our story from seeds to flower, to plant , to yarn , to clothe , and finally into product . #seedtoself #bethechsnge #microbusiness #systemchangenotclimatechange #circulareconomy #consciousliving #sathya #india #indigenous #wisdom #artisansofkutch #artistsupport #artisansofkutch #newearth #cotton #natural #regenerativeagriculture #regenerativefarming #auyveda
