Meet Lal ❤️ This beautiful girl was in last week for her Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO).

TPLO is a surgical treatment used to stabilse the stifle joint when the cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL) has ruptured. The CrCL is similar to the ACL in a human knee.

The TPLO procedure consists of rotating the top of the tibia (bone below the knee) and stabilising it in a new position with a bone plate and screws. These changes affect the dynamic movement between the bones of the knee and counter the loss of the CrCL. The TPLO procedure has been proven to have consistent positive outcomes even in large, athletic dogs, and dogs that undergo TPLO are highly likely to be capable of a full and active life.

Lal is doing very well after her surgery with minimal pain, and is all set to start some physiotherapy sessions to get her the best mobility outcome.❤️

Little Mabel was in for her puppy vaccinations, microchipping, and a little nail trim on them puppy claws and had her brother for support and helping with a positive vet experience. She did awesome and definitely stole some hearts 💛

 Vaccinations are an important part of your puppy's ongoing health and help keep your beloved pup protected from life-threatening diseases, but also to prevent passing illnesses on to other dogs. 🐕

Wondering if there is an opportunity for someone to provide a loving home for this sweet girl “KAYLI” , a female Shi Tzu who is approximately 7 years old and also a home for “CAMERON”, approximately 6 year old, gorgeous male cat.
Unfortunately their owner is very unwell and unable to keep them. Sadly, we only have 5 days in which to rehome them. Meet R***r and his personalised bandage ❤️ He has been such a good boy today!

He unfortunately came in due to vomiting and lethargy 😔 He needed X-rays, which showed thickening of his stomach lining and is now undergoing some treatment to make him feel better 🩺

UPDATE : ***update*** Bandit has been found. He is home. We are extremely grateful to the men who climbed a huge oak tree to get him down. 😻

“Our 1 year old male cat "Bandit" has been missing since Friday evening, we last saw him just before 7 pm. He is a short-haired mid-brown and white cat with chocolate brown seal point markings and bright blue eyes, he is microchipped. He has a baby pink collar on at the moment as he keeps losing them and that was our last spare collar. I appreciate your help. We live at the Southern end of Greenlane backing on to the Konini Park.”

May is Pet Arthritis Awareness Month and is perfectly timed with the temperature dropping as the winter nights are setting in.

Prior to the cold, dark winter months, we are offering a 20% discount on our senior wellness package for dogs and cats. This offer will run for the month of May (8.5.24 – 8.6.24)

Our senior wellness package is usually for pets over 7 years of age and helps catch any early signs of organ dysfunction and joint mobility.

The package includes a comprehensive blood test, urinalysis, and blood pressure check - these tests look into their heart, liver, and kidney health and function.  As well as a general health check by a Vet and particularly looking at their mobility and joint movement.

🐶 Puppy Classes 🐶

We have 3 available spots for our next puppy class that begins on Thursday, the 18th of April. Please email or call the clinic to book in 🥰

Puppies need to have had their second vaccination and not be older than 15 weeks to begin.

Puppy classes are important for socialisation, to learn new skills and desensitisation.

How purr-fect is this hideaway house one of the nurses made for our patients who feel a bit nervous in a new environment?! 🩷🐈‍⬛

We have extra touches to try to make our clinic cat friendly as possible, including feliway plug-ins throughout our facility, Igloos, and boxes to allow them to hibernate, a designated cat consult room and a cat perch in reception to allow them to be elevated whilst you wait for your consult. 🐱

Euthanasia can be the most difficult time for pet owners and vet staff. However it can also aid as a blessing for your suffering mate. Even though it is endlessly painful for us, we think of euthanasia as your final gift to your beloved pet, ending their pain and giving them peace. 🌈🐾

Depending on your pet's size and breed, the time for them to be desexed can vary.

🐾Kittens are usually from 4-6 months, and once they have hit a target weight to be under GA.

🐾Small canine breeds are recommended from 6 months and larger breeds from 12-24 months.

🐾Desexing pets can help with behaviour and temperament problems.

🐾Reduces pet over population and unwanted litters.

🐾Lowers the risk of reproductive health problems.

🐾Reduces or eliminates the chance of marking or spraying.
