Masala box is also known as Anjali box in South Indian homes and masala dhabba or masala dhani in North Indian homes. It has many names in different regions of India, nevertheless it is an integral part of every Indian kitchen. It comes in different shapes, sizes and materials e.g., wood, brass, stainless steel and plastic (which I dislike personally). Masala box is like a jewel box usually consisting of seven (7) containers that sit snugly in a round or a rectangle or square box.
Every home based on the region would have even (7) different ingredients that are critical to creating most dishes. Mine contains a mix of spice powders turmeric, chilli powder, mustard and cumin seeds, split yellow pea, black gram dal and fenugreek seeds.
I believe cooking is an art and like any artist, you need tools that make cooking an enjoyable and rewarding experience. During my recent trip to India, I discovered the most irresistible and beautiful hand-finished functional masala boxes.
I bring to you the most stunning masala box made of stainless steel and the outer is beautiful hand-finished with stunning embossed material that makes the box unique and simply stunning.
This Masala box is a must-have and makes a great gift for that family member or friend who loves cooking.
Don't miss out as I have limited boxes. Order yours now https://banus.co.nz/products/masala-boxes
DISCLAIMER - the outer box is finished with embossed material that does require care. It is advised that it is not washed with harsh chemicals or washed in a dishwasher. Simple wipe-down with a dry cloth will keep it clean and shining for a long time. The inner containers can be washed in the dishwasher.
DISCLAIMER - The masala boxes do not contain any spices upon order, your preferred masalas will need to be purchased separately.

23 years ❤️❤️🙏❤️❤️
NAMASTE AND THANK YOU TO EACH ONE OF YOU FOR SUPPORTING US 🙏🙏
Today marks end of 23 years of being in this paradise - New Zealand.
We first came to Te Atatu Peninsula and made it our home.
Grief drove me out of the country I was born in, having lost my beloved dad – a culinary guru unexpectedly, I lost my sense of purpose and direction.
New Zealand welcomed us with open arms, Te Atatu Peninsula gave us a new home and an opportunity to restart our life, however the distance and being away from family created a void which led to me being very sick.
A coincidental meeting with naturopath then meeting a psychic, connecting with the spirit world and meeting my dad was surreal and a message at the end from him was “I should start teaching cooking” left me further lost and at crossroads.
My daughter saved me when I was at my lowest, she urged me to put a post on Te Atatu Peninsula FB page in Sept 2014 to see if anyone was keen to learn Indian vegetarian cooking, and my community encouraged me and gave us strength to start something that we had never done before.
On 21 Sept 2014 with my dad’s initials at the forefront I started SKR Banuskitchen.
We took to FB, threw open our temple; our home, my family worked tirelessly, we hosted weekend after weekend eager students who helped me heal, gave me self worth, contentment and a reiteration that I am on the right path. Hosting my classes, sharing my story, teaching his recipes has given me a singular focus, sense of purpose, closure and I am very happy to say that my health is getting better.
I could have not got to where I am today if not for all your love, blessings and good wishes. I take this opportunity to thank each one of you for your support, keep it coming towards our humble effort https://www.facebook.com/SKRBanusKitchen
Stay blessed everyone, thank you for loving us and helping us contribute back in our own little way, namaste🙏🙏
