Press Release ICNZ
Men’s Masters Tri Series Selection Tournament/Women’s O30 Internal 5 Match Series May 2024
ICNZ in conjunction with the Masters World Series coaches would like to congratulate the following players who have been selected to attend the Masters Tri Series selection tournament and Women’s O30s Internal 5 match series to be held at Action Central in Auckland over the 11-12th May.
The board has given dispensation to two players who have pre-booked travel commitments – Robin James in the over 50s grade and Natasha Williams in the over 30 Women’s grade. Both players will still be eligible for selection for the Masters World Series in Sri Lanka next year. ICNZ/coaches will be in touch with all players with further details.
The coaches had a very hard job selecting these sides with some great players missing selection. Each coach has named non-travelling reserves that should be staying fit and continuing their training as they could be added to sides at any stage. These players are:
35s Kellan Martin
40s’ Glen Bright and Rory Girdler
45’s Dan Naughton and Glen Smith
50s Corey Todd and Craig Findlay
The updated proposed cost of this event is now $150. The slight increase has arisen due to increased court hireage rates as well as plans to have a physio onsite for issues that may arise.
There may be some changes to the Over 50s teams as we receive feedback and registrations for the Over 55s and this grade’s planned Internal 5 match series comes together. The hope is more over 50s will have the chance to trial and will be added to sides in the near future.
Indoor Cricket New Zealand press release.
ICNZ has had a huge response from players making themselves available for the upcoming Masters World Series in Sri Lanka. Part of the process of making themselves available was a survey around looking at interest in a 55’s group. We had a huge response to this survey with an overwhelming interest in this grade. The ICNZ Board met in the last few days and have decided to run a trial at the same time as the Tri-Series for 55’s. There will be a North vs South Series, consisting of 5 matches, on the 11th and 12th of May 2024, in Auckland.
ICNZ will be looking to appoint coaches and managers for this grade as soon as possible. As the WICF have not sanctioned the 55’s grade yet, the players will play in the over 50’s grade at the Masters World Series. If there are two or more teams over 55’s, ICNZ will push for a final between these teams. Indications from other countries is that there will be enough teams in this division, but there are no guarantees.
If you are interested in being involved, please fill in the nomination form by 5.00pm on the 6th of December 2023. ICNZ will then name trial sides 6 days later, on the 12th of December.

MASTERS POST please share.....
Wow, what a year Indoor Cricket New Zealand has had. The Masters winning the Trans-Tasman Series for the first time since 1987 was amazing, now that we have some great momentum heading into the World Cup year for Masters we are calling for nominations for the Tri Series for the weekend of 11th and 12th of May 2024, as well as over 30 women North vs South Series the same weekend.
This series is going to be the final trial for the Masters sides going to Sri Lanka later that year, so we would encourage everyone to make themselves available if you have aspirations of making any of the World Cup sides traveling to Sri Lanka for the World Cup September 2024.
Once we have all the availability forms in the NZ coaches will then be heavily involved in naming the sides and we hope to have these sides named by the 1st of December 2023.
We are working on these timelines.
Forms released: 31st October 2023
Closes Wednesday 15th of November 5pm
Sides released 1st December 2023

What is known as Black-Out day ends with dinner and presentations to the members of the squads that are on debut. And the followed by a rousing haka to welcome these new players, coaches, managers and support staff into the Indoor Cricket New Zealand representative family.
Congratulations to all on debut and also the the old guys and gals in the teams.
Just as a side note and a heads up, there seems to be a second page promoting this maters series.
This page is the only official page of the Masters Trans-Tasman Series for 2023:
