sustainable forestry producing innovative premium wood solutions
for an evolving building industry
Juken New Zealand has been heavily involved with the NZ forestry and wood-processing industries for the past 30 years - manufacturing advanced and innovative wood products from selectively planted, managed and harvested Radiata Pine for local and export markets.
Great work, Daniel Newman! Wood is Good!
Wood is Good were at Manutuke School yesterday with Juken New Zealand - JNL, Qube Forestry NZ (formerly Pacific Haulage) and supported by Drive 35
Daniel Newman swapped out his day job as wood flow manager at Juken NZ Ltd to read a story to a Manutuke School class yesterday. They loved it!
Daniel's one of around eight local foresters who've been brought into three primary schools this week by Discover Forestry NZ. They've been discussing forestry and the importance of wood to our everyday lives.
Local truck drivers have brought their log trucks so students can sit in the cab and foresters speak about the huge range of jobs available as well as the importance of safety and the environment in the industry.
“It’s really important to protect the environment in forestry. That’s a reason why many people work in forestry, because we love the outdoors,” says Daniel.
There were freebies too, all the students got to take home a high-vis vest and a yoyo - made of pine.
