Why is it that 80% of women will experience debilitating symptoms during menopause?
I have watched some videos on Youtube recently while researching how to help myself, real women who feel like they are going mad!
Enough! I invite you to check out the link below and come with me to join the lucky 20%
Menopause - debilitating symptoms and weight gain There are debilitating symptoms 80% of women experience during Menopause, one big one is sudden weight gain.
I hope none of you think I am posting ‘poor me’ ‘feel sorry for me’ posts, because I’m not! I am a strong ass women looking after herself.
This page was built to give me focus, and to find things to help my health, hoping others might share, and for me to share with others.
I’m mostly in a good place right now, but that big C word causes some crap with your Psyche!
When diagnosed I went into full on fight mode, I wanted to protect my children and parents, who were all terrified. I stuffed everything down and just did what I had to do, telling everyone it was no big deal, it’s going to be fine. And it was! They successfully took out the cancer, and the treatment was like an umbrella, an extra layer of protection so to speak.
Close to my one year anniversary, I suddenly melted down, I went into full on anxiety and depression, which I had never encountered before. As I’d never had an experience like this before it decimated me.
I did have to get the help of medication to actually function somewhat normally again, and I appreciate that. But I like natural, I don’t want to be reliant on more drugs than I have to take.
Recently when I was in hospital, I noticed that all the health workers had a tech contraption that they used to phone each other, departments etc. It used a ‘Siri’ like interface, not Siri, but I can’t recall the name. However, that was a bit amusing as with all the nationalities of staff, ‘Siri’ didn’t always understand what they were saying. 😂
I don’t know how many times I would hear a nurse or doctor asking ‘Siri’ - for example…. “call John Smith”, only to have her say “I’m sorry I don’t understand you, did you say …..”
The frustration was palpable.
But what I also saw was that ‘Siri’ at certain intervals would tell them to stop and take time for mindfulness . It intrigued me and I had to learn more.
What is mindfulness?
“Mindfulness encompasses two key ingredients: awareness and acceptance. Awareness is the knowledge and ability to focus attention on one’s inner processes and experiences, such as the experience of the present moment. Acceptance is the ability to observe and accept—rather than judge or avoid—those streams of thought.”
I have been practicing mindfulness and I love the way it makes me feel.
Check out this link to a great YouTube Mindfulness video I like to use, but there are loads of apps and other resources out there too.
Have a beautiful day and practice gratitude ❤️

I have love, love, loved that I have had so many of you interacting, following and sharing my posts.
So I decided I will give you a bit of a background about me and why I’m on a healthy body mission.
This is personal, and I’ve got some anxiety about sharing, but I’m determined to find good info to help me with my health issues.
Bear with me.
Im a 57 yr old female, I have 4 beautiful children, 2 boys, 2 girls and 3 grandchildren.
I am separated, quite happily, still in contact with my ex.
For the bulk of my life I have never had a weight problem, stayed pretty much a consistent weight up till my 40’s.
I hardly ever went to the doctor, took no daily meds, lived naturally and simply, with a great diet (love veges and whole foods, cooking from scratch) and got plenty of exercise in various forms.
But health issues have been the bane of my life for the past 10-12 years.
10 years ago, at age 47, I had a heart attack, stent put in, put on so many medications, I just did what I was told.
I researched, googled, found all the info I could to reduce my risk factors, although the ‘Hereditary’ factor was quite strong.
I was all good, then menopause came at me full noise.
I had already started getting symptoms the year before, but then was in full on mode.
I can say, although I still functioned in a full time, in a very busy executive job, working 10 hrs a day, I was a mess.
I avoided everyone, I was a recluse, even to my own family.
I had a constant sense of anxiety and dread, even to the point I took out Funeral Insurance!
I tried everything ‘natural’ to relieve my symptoms, spent a fortune on every pill, potion, naturopaths, even downloaded calming apps. Nothing worked.
By 51, I was exhausted dealing with it all, the symptoms, brain fog, the sudden weight gain like I’d never had before, complete lack of energy.
I decided that HRT was my last option, after thorough research I made my decision to go for it. My Dr was great and I told him I wanted patches as less likelihood of breast cancer, all good, prescribed.
Within 5 days I felt I had my life back! 😊👏
Forward on to 2020…September to be exact, had my regular bi-annual mammogram.
I got a call two weeks later, please come back for a recheck.
Sense of dread, I just knew!
After another mammogram, scan and biopsy, I was rescheduled for a visit, to find out the results, 7 days later.
I was lucky to have the most amazing surgeon on hand that day to give me the news.
“Honey, there is no easy way to say this, but your biopsy results show it is cancer.”
So although this post has already been a bit of a long story… to cut a long story short…
My cancer was very strongly hormone based, I had a big part of my left b**b removed, along with lymph nodes, then weeks of daily radiation and I was put on hormone suppressants to stop the possibility of reoccurrence.
Get that! Hormone suppressants! Suddenly I was straight back there in hell!
So a year & a bit on, I am on a mission, to not only help myself, but any of you that have chosen to like, follow & share.
I promise I will try to do my posts in the best way, be fun, be informative, give links to posts I have found interesting and sometimes products I find may help.
Photos, 1. me waiting to be taken for my first biopsy, sending positive snapchats to my kids! 2. Radiation machine. 3. Me after round 10 of Radiation, little did I know then how bad it was to get….
How much we take our bodies for granted when we are young.
Most of us do not really take good care of them when we should!
Then we seem to suddenly feel old, have lower energy, weight gain, our skin is not glowing any more.
I met an old workmate recently, I hardly recognised her!
She looked incredible, she had lost so much weight and was almost skipping around the mall, where as my memory of her was a painful gait and she couldn’t lift or bend. Her skin glowed, she actually looked younger weirdly.
After a hug and a quick catch up, I had to ask.
“ I’m sorry hun, but you look awesome, and you are simply glowing, what have you done?”
She let me know, she’d found a natural product that had changed her life, all she did was take one special herbal tablet every night and the weight dropped off, she gained energy and felt a million dollars.
This is a must try in my book.
I need more energy!
I had my delicious, delightful granddaughter, Layla, who is 6mths old, over for the night this past weekend. And I am EXHAUSTED 🥱
I am researching frantically ATM, just to find some answers. This is not right for a woman my age, surely!
I just watched a YouTube video on the affect that your hormones have on your energy levels and weight, it was quite thought provoking. I have attached the link, worth taking a look if you have time.
This will take me in that direction for more help.
PS. Why is it that we think chubby little fat rolls look so delightful on babies, but not on ourselves 😂
PPS. Please like my page, share if you want, if I get enough likes I might post a photo of my little Layla, it’ll be worth it 💓
Body Fat Hormone Guide - What Your BODY FAT Tells You About your Hormones This body fat hormone guide explains what your body fat tells you about your hormone levels. Have fat in your upper arms? It could be from your estrogen and ...

Hormone health☺️
Truly how do we actually understand this?
I’m totally frustrated that even our GP’s don’t.
I personally have been through so much in the past 10 years, with a total lack of support or knowledge or even compassionate understanding from the many health professionals I have seen.
Don’t get me wrong, our medical professionals are great, but there are areas they just have no knowledge on, so just want to prescribe anti depressants.
Menopause…. Don’t get me started. The amount of $$$ I’ve spent over the years to try and relieve my crazy symptoms. GP’s just don’t have the knowledge, it’s a non important subject apparently, and they haven’t been given training. Back to being given depression tests and offered anti depressants. Like you’re crazy.
And then to add to your list, weight gain, like you’ve never had before! WTF!
Enough!
Time for action to get my life back.
Like & follow, I promise you I’m on a mission to help! ❤️
Welcome to my page. So happy you have come for a look.
I like to research and delve into health issues and so I decided to dedicate a page to this, discussions if you like, support each other and swap information. It can be a forum for any healthy bodies issue, but I start, because it's my page 😂
The big one for me ATM is gaining weight around my stomach.
Why, I ask myself daily, have I never struggled with weight issues until I hit mid 40's?
Why is it that some people struggle to lose weight, doing all the right things, healthy diet, exercise?😏
I have been delving into answering this question for some time now. I have researched a few things, one in particular being the affect your hormones are a big part of this. 😣 Great! Not something I can control, being on Hormone Suppressants after my breast cancer diagnosis.
I read a great article on this I will post a link if you want to learn more.
