**The Ultimate Therapy: Girls' Night Out**
Let’s be honest: the best therapy sessions involves zero couches and absolutely no digging into your childhood traumas. It’s all about the legendary Girls' Night Out.
Sunday, I had one such night at the Celeste Barber comedy show in Auckland with an amazing group of ladies. And honestly, it was the kind of night that made me appreciate the magic of getting out of the house and having some good old-fashioned adult time.
We kicked off the evening with delicious food, and drinks at The Glass Goose. Even though I didn’t know everyone, the conversation flowed like the cocktails.
Then we headed over to the Civic for Celeste Barber herself. She had us in stitches, making us laugh at the absurdities of life. There’s nothing like shared laughter to bond a group of women who might not have known each other from a bar of soap before the night began.
The Sky Tower was beautifully lit up, making the night feel even more magical. It was one of those perfect evenings where everything just clicks. By the end of the night, I felt a wave of appreciation for these incredible women and for the chance to get out and enjoy myself.
So here’s the takeaway: girls' nights out are the best therapy, even if you don’t know everyone at the start. By the end, you’ll feel lighter, happier, and more connected. Forget the therapist's couch—grab your girls and hit the town. Trust me, it’s the best cure for whatever ails you!
My bento boxes featuring mini cakes and cupcakes are incredibly versatile and can be customized to fit any theme you desire. This adorable bunny-themed set is a perfect example, showcasing a bunny face on the front and an edible Thumper on the back, along with two cute little bunny cupcakes 🐰
My little sister’s workmates are the perfect example of what workmates should be… lovely enough to get you cake but also know you well enough to give you hell while doing it.
They kicked off her last week before maternity leave, and last team meeting, in style with a lemon cake featuring toasty meringue and cream cheese icing.
These legends didn't just get any cake; they got one with a sassy little message on it! (Truth be told I had free reign 🤣)
They turned a regular Monday into a mini celebration, proving their humor game is as strong as their cake game. Honestly, these guys know how to send someone off in the sweetest way possible.
Now, my amazing sister is going to spend some time at home relaxing before welcoming a baby boy into her whānau. ❤️❤️
Just love this Bratz-themed red velvet cake with rainbow sides!
🌈 Rainbows make everything 10x better automatically. This cake was a colourful delight and tasted just as good as it looked 🥰
Surviving Week Two: The Epic Back-to-School Struggle!
Let’s talk about the colossal mess that is week two of the school term. It's like the honeymoon phase is over, and reality just smacked us all in the face.
My three kiddos? They’re over it already. Grumpy, tired, and looking like little zombies who don’t know what sleep is! Not to mention, the weather is a total disaster—cold, dreary, and just the right kind of miserable to make you want to hibernate until spring.
So, what do I do when the kids are dragging themselves through the week, and I’m teetering on the edge of sanity? Enter: CJ's Hot Chips and home made Hot Chocolates. This afternoon, I decided it was time for an impromptu treat to work that comfort food magic.
Spoiler alert: it was amazing. Crispy, golden hot chips with chicken salt and steaming mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows that made us all feel better for a while.
After our little treat, we went full chill mode. We curled up on the couch with cozy blankets, watched movies, and dove into some serious coloring sessions. Because let’s face it, sometimes the most productive thing you can do is absolutely nothing… No need to feel guilty about it.
Life is chaotic enough, and we’re all doing our best. Sometimes, the best way to tackle that ever-growing to-do list is to toss it aside for a bit and recharge.
Embrace the chaos, the mess, and the exhaustion.
Let’s normalize taking it easy, especially when it feels like the world is demanding we keep going at full speed.
So here’s to week two, hot chips, hot chocolates, and the art of chilling out. We’ve got this!

This isn't your average Sweet Spot Creations cake! Decked out with hand-cut edible feathers to form a dazzling Māori cloak, this beauty was a true showstopper.
And guess what? It's banana-flavored, too!
Not my usual style, but I loved every second, and challenge of crafting this masterpiece. Sometimes, stepping out of the box is where the magic happens. 😉🍰

Whew, can we all collectively sigh in relief now that the school holidays are over? 🙌 I don’t know about you, but keeping up with all the demands during that time felt like juggling cats in a room full of laser pointers. 😅
So, here’s the deal: I owe you all a huge apology for being MIA and slow on the draw lately. Life decided to play a game of “how many things can we throw at you at once,” and let’s just say, I was this close to hiding in a blanket fort with a stash of chocolate. 🍫 But hey, I’m only human, and last time I checked, there’s still just one of me.
Now that the chaos has settled (fingers crossed!), I’m back on track. Messages are being answered, and I’m catching up on all the witty banter you’ve been sending my way. If I missed yours in the shuffle, flick me another message —I promise I won’t blame it on the cat walking across my keyboard (this time).
Seriously though, your support means everything. Let’s shake off those holiday cobwebs together and get back to the good stuff. I’ve got some exciting plans cooking up, and I can’t wait to share them with you all.
Thanks a million for hanging in there with me. You guys rock!
These are the updated prices and flavours.
If you have any questions, or would like to book in some sweet treats, feel free to send me a message.
Hey guys! If you’re juggling the sweet and spicy world of solo parenting, especially with neuro-spicy kiddos, you know it’s a rollercoaster ride. With three kids (two neuro-spicy), I’ve learned a lot about balancing chaos and calm.
Just when you have a routine, the school holidays hit and the kids head to their dad’s for a week, the silence can be overwhelming. Instead of doing cartwheels down the hallway, I find myself staring into the abyss of my empty calendar.
Being a safe space for your kids is a full-time job. They take it all out on you—every frustration, every meltdown, every quirk. And it’s okay to admit you need a break. It’s not just okay; it’s essential.
When the mummy guilt kicks in (and oh, it will), remind yourself: you can’t pour from an empty cup. Here’s how I recharge during those rare kid-free weeks:
1. *Embrace Guilt-Free Me-Time*: Yes, the silence is deafening at first, but this is your chance to recharge. Have a guilt-free bubble bath, binge-watch that show everyone’s talking about, or read a book without interruptions. Remember, you deserve this.
2. *Hang Out with Friends*: Call up your besties and schedule those dinner dates. Laugh, eat, and enjoy the company of adults for a change.
3. *Retail Therapy*: Long walks down the aisles of Kmart can be surprisingly therapeutic. Whether buying essentials or just window shopping, take your time and enjoy the freedom of solo shopping trips.
4. *Breathe and Reflect*: Reconnect with yourself. Whether it’s walks, meditation, or just sitting in your favorite spot with a cup of tea, or taking a nap, find what helps you feel centered and do it.
5. *Date Yourself*: Treat yourself to a nice meal and savor every bite. Enjoy the luxury of not having to cut up anyone’s food but your own.
Remember, taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s necessary. Your kids need you to be at your best, and that means prioritizing your well-being too.
So, take a deep breath. Embrace the chaos, cherish the quiet moments, and never forget that you are doing an incredible job. You are a superhero, even when your cape is in the wash.
Stay sassy, stay strong, and remember to pour a little love back into your own cup. You’ve got this!

**Oops, I Did It Again! 😅**
First off, sorry for the lack of posts lately. It's been a whirlwind with school holidays, markets, and endless admin work (does anyone actually like paperwork?!). But we've got some exciting things coming up, and it's going to be worth the wait!
Now, let's talk cake – because who doesn’t love cake? Here's one of the ONLY photos I managed to take this week: a Frozen-themed cake. ❄️ Isn’t she a beaut? I seriously need to bake myself a reminder to take more photos!
Thanks for sticking with me. Stay tuned, because big things are on the way!
