🚲The Tamahere Lions have recently launched their e-trike! The trike can be used by anyone with mobility issues free of charge from the Velodrome through Riverside Adventures - Waikato.

One of our amazing volunteers was able to enjoy Colour Cambridge thanks to this e-trike - such a fantastic community resource🎉

🎁 The second way you can help share a little magic this Christmas is by purchasing a gift! Any gift!

We are supporting over 1000 children this year and we don't have specific wishes for each child - so we gratefully accept ANY brand new gifts.

🌟 GIFT IDEAS 🌟 You could purchase a gift that you would give to a child you know, ask your child to choose a gift THEY would love to recieve or keep an eye out for wishes we'll be posting online over the next few weeks for some inspiration.

✨There are 4 ways you can help KIN share a little magic this Christmas! The first is through our Wish Trees! These are located all over the Waikato - HOW DOES IT WORK?

🎄 Pick a wish card from the tree (they'll either be on the tree or under the tree)
🎄 Purchase the gift that's on the wish card
🎄 Drop the gift off (UNWRAPPED) back to the wish tree

Our team will pick up the gifts and bring them back to KIN XMAS HQ, match it to the right child, wrap the gift and deliver it in time for Christmas (thanks again to Rotary clubs all over the Waikato who are helping us again this year).

Every care pack we put together has something to cuddle, whether the child is 3 months old or 17 😍

One of the grandparents we support mentioned her 12 year old grandson wasn't fussed about soft toys (we put one in anyway...because that's what we do!). We spoke to her a few months later only to find out the soft toy was his favourite thing in the care pack 🫶

Thank you DV Bryant Trust for supporting Kids in Need through your recent grant. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing belief in the work we carry out in the Waikato 🫶 The grant enables us to continue supporting caregivers and the children they are raising 💖

💚KIN provides practical support through care packs - but did you know we also provide opportunities for caregivers and the children in their care to take part in other activities that support their wellbeing? On Saturday we teamed up with Finlay Park Adventure Camp for our third annual 𝗞𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁!

80 caregivers and children attended the day camp and had a blast! Caregivers were treated to a barge cruise and the children took part in amazing activities that were not only fun but also challenged them - including archery, go karts, axe throwing and rock climbing 🛶🎯🪓🏎️

The feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive with most kids not wanting to leave and many already excited for the BIG DAY OUT in 2025!! 🫶Huge thanks to Finlay Park who are experts at fun, and made the day extra special for the families that attended.

Kids in Need would like to say THANK YOU to 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 for their wonderful grant that will help us purchase sunscreen for our summer care packs😎! We are so grateful for their ongoing support 🙌
