Cleon Peterson - Into the Night MMXXI Gold
Hand-pulled screen print on 290gsm Coventry Rag paper with deckled edges.
Limited Edition of 125 ( #29/125)
Numbered and signed by the artists.
104.5 x104.5cm - Framed in a float mount style with a modern white profile.
About the Artists:
Cleon Peterson’s bold, stylized paintings and prints depict a world of brute, authoritarian violence and caustic debauchery. The artist draws on fine-art influences such as Leon Golub and Paul McCarthy, as well as the aesthetics of Greek pottery, graphic design, and political propaganda posters. His striking compositions feature characters packed into dense, kinetic scenes of high-contrast conflict. Peterson works with a spare color palette, often limiting himself to black, white, red, and yellow. He received his MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art before going on to exhibit in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Paris, San Francisco, and beyond. His work has fetched five-figure prices on the secondary market. By explicitly depicting acts of violence, Peterson hopes to highlight the overreach of authoritarian power in contemporary society.

NAWER - Run into TroubleAcrylic collage on wood panel, tray framed in a matte white frame. 2022. 300mm x 300mm H
About the Artist: Polish artist NAWER has been involved in street art since the mid-1990s. He graduated from the Architecture and Urbanism program in Krakow and in 2003 focused his energies on painting. NAWER’s art has been featured in solo and group shows as well as online and in various print publications. Recently NAWER has collaborated with the Design Collective, Temporary Space, in a series of audio-visual performance projects that combine his artwork with the latest in video and 3-D mapping techniques. Check out his collaboration with PORSCHE now live on his page -
This painting is currently hanging in Fiksate Gallery and available online under 'Originals' at fisksate.com
art
NAWER is a creative force from Poland who we are thrilled to be working with. He has recently created an exclusive collaborative PORSCHE design that is incredible, and worth viewing - visit immediately to check this out! NAWER states that as his own style evolves, “the goal is always to strive forward in an effort to connect painting with architecture.”
He does this both on and off the street, in projects including murals, canvases, and multi-media installations. This goal is pursued with aerosol, masking tape, X-ACTO blades, stencils, and precision.
He often selects public and functional spaces for his large-scale work and then creates detailed sketches at a small scale before starting on the walls. Two-dimensional surfaces are given volume, mass, color, space, and rhythm — the basic elements of architecture — as he superimposes them with geometric planes, shifting axes, and multiple perspectives which result in the illusion of 3-D.
Fiksate is currently hanging two original artworks by NAWER and these deserve a viewing in person to appreciate the vibrant colours and details.
View his works under 'Originals' at fiksate.com or visit our gallery during our opening hours: Weds - Friday 11am - 5pm / Saturdays 10am - 4pm
*** NEW ORIGINAL from Tyler Kennedy Stent - 'Matthiola' ***Original watercolour & gouache on 640gsm Fine Art Paper. 575mmW x 765mmH unframed. Available online or in the gallery.
This exquisite original artwork on thick fine art paper is a testament to 's immense talent with his mediums of watercolour and gouache. This portrait portrays his art teacher's son, holding both hands out with one holding the Matthiola plant, and the other with fingers crossed. Both are areas of interest but the stand out is the model's expression and the vibrancy of the colour palette.
Tyler utilises watercolour to create stunning portraiture and this artwork is an incredible example of his work.
About the artist: Tyler Kennedy Stent (b. 1997) has exhibited his artwork since 2014 in Marlborough, Dunedin, Spain, and London alongside artists in residence stays.
His public artwork gained notoriety through his mural of Ed Sheran in Dunedin when the musician played there. His most recent mural is located at Dunedin airport and features Kuao Langsbury ONZM and HRH Prince Charles at the Royal Albatross Colony at Pukekura, Otago Peninsula 6th March 2005. His approach to outdoor murals is similar to his studio works by using watercolour as his main material. This poses challenges, as rain and watercolours don't bode well together, so Tyler uses a specific primer for the watercolour to adhere to, and then a heavy varnish to ensure its protection from the elements.
