Hello dear friends!
Henri and I are in our second year of studying Traditional Chinese Medicine at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and TCM.
We’ve also spent the last year and a half living in Bali studying TCM, QiGong, Martial Arts etc with the Lotus NeiGong School of Internal Arts (which is a 5 year program!)
The NZ school is very accommodating of our second studies, but it means we are in for a very intensive June as we need to see as many clients as possible to get out clinical hours up before returning to studies in Bali.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to visit us to deal with any health condition/concern, or have general assessment of your health, or want tonify and strengthen yourself, you are most welcome to book in.
You can come just once or many times a week over the month of June, all for freeeeee 😊
Clinics will be run at Evergreen Health in Epsom, Auckland & from our lil mountain hut in Tairua, Coromandel.

A quick few weeks back in New Zealand.
Nice to come back to something we have built and see it is still strong, beautiful, clean & dry.
An excellent cultivation hut in the mountains - albeit still plenty of work to do!
Also planted another few hundred natives along with some plums, oranges & mandarins!

A very enjoyable family trip to the motherland to visit my brother 🏴

There are many paths of cultivation, but most are fragmented.
After years looking around the globe for teachers, it’s rewarding & humbling to find and learn with one who has a linear, sensible (yet crazy), step by step system from a proper lineage 🙏🏼
For some perspective, this is our local village Tairua, well worth a visit if in NZ.
The second photo is the other direction, the mountains where we have
More images of the hut we’ve been building over the last year. We’re putting a bookmark here for now 🎬
Many quality lessons of endurance, patience, willpower, commitment, trust, appreciation.. along with learning a whole new skill set! 👷🏼♀️👷🏽
Thanks Mike Valley Renovation & Maintenance for spending months camping in the forest with us, working, teaching & guiding us. What an experience haha 🙏🏼
Early 2020 we were set to venture to China, back to study Gong Fu, TaiJi & QiGong at WuWeiSi, to study Chinese Medicine, to meet with tea partners and attend one of the biggest renewable energy conferences in Chengdu.
Cue Covid.
We side stepped to New Zealand and have had three years of adventures.
A few days after we arrived, the country went into lockdown, we were left a farm to manage (with no previous experience) caring for horses, sheep, goats & cows. Explored the beauties of the south & north islands, visited many teachers of martial arts, QiGong & Yoga.. along with ballet & choir classes (much to Henri’s delight). Taught various QiGong workshops & classes, made lots of wonderful friends, attended Neuropuncture courses, opened an “Inner Garden” clinic, grew our medicinal mushroom business, did solo retreats in mountain huts, built a cabin in the forest, commenced an Acupuncture degree with and now we are off to commence our next chapter ✈️

ALT-J in Auckland
For the last week I’ve been staying with one of my TCM teachers at her clinic in Auckland 😁
I only leave the clinic for a few hours early in the mornings for training at the park, otherwise I am entirely here spending time with different TCM doctors working on their patients, then having lengthy discussions late into the night with Shelly.
It’s a real privilege to learn from practitioners who all have their unique styles.. from Ba Gua navel acupuncture, Japanese moxibustion, Daoist medical QiGong, Tui Na massage.. the breadth of TCM is vast, as is the ability to help heal various health conditions and problems.
I absolutely love Chinese Medicine and feel really lucky to study that which touches something very deep inside me 靈

Keep Digging
Note: just after we hooked up the rainwater tank we prayed for January rain.. and had a wild “once-in-twenty-year” storm and voilà it’s FULL(!!!)
Part of our constitution includes “Ancestral Qi”
Spending time with parents helps to gain more insight into who one is - strengths, weaknesses, quirks.. haha
Lots of love and gratitude for our parents who visited for the last 6 weeks from Estonia & Australia. They shared their love, wisdom and skills to help us build
“there is no question, there is no answer - keep digging”

拔罐
extraction vessel / fire glass cupping
Is a method used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to helps to draw out & eliminate pathogenic factors such as wind, cold, damp & heat.
Cupping is effectively used for a range of diseases, injuries, aches & pains.
It is not painful, generally feels quite relieving and leaves pepperoni looking marks via suction (like a hicky)
I really enjoy cupping and find it interesting to see which areas have more stagnation (which results in darker pepperoni circles). It varies with the seasons and what I have going on in life.
Garrett’s Garden
My parents have always been avid gardeners.
As a child my parents often proudly said “90% of this meal is from the garden” which usually went unappreciated.
As I got older and spent more and more time without my parents, I began to notice the difference I felt whilst eating store bought fruit n veg.
Growing your own food is gratifying on numerous levels.
Since being in New Zealand we have set up gardens at a number of air bnbs that we have stayed at.
Really glad to now be somewhere a bit more “permanent” that we can start to plant things that we will see the fruits (and veges) of!! 🥝🌽🥒🍠🥕🥬🍅🥦🍆🥑🫐🍓🍒🫑🌶🍇🍉🍈🧄🥔🍊🍍🍐🧅🍎🍑🍋
