Toy Library Update

- We will be closed for the next 2 months, with a tentative re-open date of ‪Thursday, 21 May.‬ This will be assessed on an ongoing basis.

- Please hang onto your toys if you are able to. All toy hires will automatically be renewed until 2 weeks after our re-opening date, without any charge to you. We ask that you take special care of the Library toys in your possession during this time.

- If for some reason you need to return your toys earlier than ‪May 21‬, please get in touch and we will organise a contact-less way for them to be returned. You can contact us via email or private Facebook message.

- We have decided to postpone our request for membership renewal at this time. When we reopen, memberships will be available at a reduced rate for this year to compensate for our closure. We will re-send notices with our new membership rates before we reopen.

We know this is an especially trying time for parents, and we hope that the long-term loan of your current Library toys will help your kids find ways to fill their time. We wish you all the best in the months ahead and look forward to seeing you back at the Library on the other side of this crisis. We will will continue to check our email and Facebook accounts so get in touch if you have any questions.

Sorry for the late notice but we have decided to close the toy library tomorrow morning. We hope to reassess our procedures this week and reopen in some capacity soon! We will keep you updated through email and fb. Thanks! The Toy Library Committee

Toy Library Cleaning Protocol

Until further notice we are putting additional measures in place to ensure we are doing everything we can to provide a safe and healthy environment for our members and their families:

- Please only come along if you and your family are well
- We ask that only one person come in to the library to return and hire toys
- Wash or sanitise your hands on arrival
- Clean your toys at the cleaning station. All cleaning products for you to do so will be provided.
- Returned toys will then be kept aside separately for at least 72 hours as a safety precaution.
- They will then be returned to the shelves for hire the following week.
- Gloves will be provided to anyone who would like them
- If anyone in your family has been unwell please contact us via email, text or through our page to renew your toys free of charge.

Toy Library Federation of NZ

As cold & flu season is upon us, as well as confirmed cases of COVID-19 in NZ we would like to advise members to take the necessary precautions when visiting your local toy library.

Please use antiseptic wipes or a disinfectant such as a bleach solution to clean borrowed toys before returning to your toy library. More information on cleaning toys can be found here https://www.toylibrary.co.nz/resources/tips-cleaning-toys/

Furthermore frequent hand washing with soap and water for 20 seconds is also advised to reduce the risk of spreading viral infections.

Please keep in touch about your families health with your local toy librarian as this ensures that other families and volunteers stay well.

💥 2020 OPENING tomorrow, 10-11.30am! 💥

The committee has been super busy over the holiday break working to get all of the amazing new toys processed and ready for hire. We ask for the next wee while that members only hire 1 new toy per child (maximum 3) to share the new toys around. We can’t wait for the kids to test them all out!!

A big shoutout to the team BB&S for donating the new toys worth $4000. Also a big thanks for all of your help behind the scenes! BB&S deliver business advisory and accounting services, by fully qualified Chartered Accountants.
