Join us at Stitch Kitchen for our next event! We’ll be heading to Stitch Kitchen on Saturday 27th July for an afternoon at the studio, helping with their mission to reduce textile waste. There will be free transport to and from the event, as well as some snacks to keep you going!
Meet outside the OUSA Clubs and Societies building (84 Albany Street) at 12:45pm on Saturday 27th July to get a ride to the studio. You will be dropped back off outside OUSA at 3:15pm.

Join us on Saturday 16th March for a fun morning out on the peninsula! We are collaborating with Save the Otago Peninsula to release previous plantings from pasture grasses that would otherwise overrun them. Super excited to announce our very first SVA event of the year! Will just be a wholesome evening to get to know everyone and create some fun things to donate to those who need it. We will be screening short films put together by Kitnay Duur Kitnay Paas - Seeds of Peace. These films hope to encourage critical thinking, regional peace and stronger cross-border linkages in South Asia! 🤝 Definitely a must watch to learn more about social issues beyond Dunedin and yarn over.

✨Welcome to Women in Health Network Otago 2023!! We are a student- led organisation based at the University of Otago focused around empowering young women in the health field, sharing information and creating networks.
✨The WiHN Mentoring Programme involves pairing an older student (mentor) with a student in their first year of study (mentee) to share their wisdom, support and provide pastoral care. Our mentoring programme is open to anyone who identifies as a woman and/ or relates to the title.
✨Second years or above studying biomedical sciences, health sciences, science, or a health professional programme are able to apply to become a mentor. Those studying first-year health sciences, biomedical sciences, health sciences or science in their first year of university can apply to become a mentee.
✨You will also be able to connect and interact with other like-minded people who all share a common passion and desire to engage with others in a health-related area. You’ll also be included in WiHN events throughout the year to further yourself too!

Thank you to all our volunteers who joined us last weekend for our last event of the year and AGM! Along with Our Seas Our Future and Keep Dunedin Beautiful our volunteers collected 200L of rubbish, 50L of glass and 50L of plastic from St Kilda Beach! As with all our events, we are blown away with the incredible mahi achieved, and we’re sure our sea friends appreciate it too 🐠 🦭🌊🐚 🏖
Did you know that it is NZ’s Beach Clean Up Week next week? Last year 30,00 volunteers collected over 2589 rugby fields of litter in just 7 days. Come take part in our goal to beat last years epic achievement👊🏽
In NZ we never get too far from the beach... let’s not take its beauty for granted. Partnering with Keep Dunedin Beautiful and Our Seas Our Future, we are gearing up for a great day of cleaning up our very own Saint Kilda beach. We will be providing all the transport, a tasty lunch and some good tunes.

We had such a fun time at our last event helping YouthGrow with painting their space!
Keen to get your hand on a paintbrush? Come along on Sat 13 Aug to help YouthGrow paint their spaces and with other bits and bobs. YouthGrow is an alternative education programme for 16-24 year olds; based around horticulture training and designed to equip young people with the skills they need to enter work.
As per usual with our events, we provide lunch and transport, and you provide your helping hands!
We encourage those who are keen to apply for an exec role next year as we’d love to get to know you!

We're buzzing for Semester 2 and looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to join our executive team for the rest of the year with opportunities to stay on next year. If you want to help us give back to our communities by planning events, growing relationships with other volunteer and community organisations while gaining management and leadership skills this is an amazing opportunity for you!
We hold weekly executive meetings Wednesday evenings and a couple Saturday events, although we are understanding if other commitments pop up occasionally.
No experience necessary, even if you've never volunteered with us, we'd love to see your application. The only criteria to apply is you must be a tertiary student.
