We are having a working bee this Sunday afternoon for the construction of our new bike track. This will be a a gentle BMX-style dirt track, with rollers and berms, and will be available for everyone to use outside of school hours. Fulton Hogan have kindly donated some clay to us, and now we need help moving it around to form the track.

We'd love to see some members of our wider community come together on this exciting project, make some new connections, and enjoy shared kai.

We've just returned back to kura from welcoming in Hinemoana to our shores at Karitāne. It was an auspicious occasion, with all kura gathered together awaiting the arrival of the first waka in 10 years to Te Tai o te Araiteuru. We would like to thank kaitoko Nikki Crossan from Puketeraki Marae for her wonderful communication about the arrival of the waka before and during the event.

We love Port To Port Cruises And Wildlife Tours! Rachel has taken our school for trips to Quarantine Island and to the Marine Studies Centre at Portobello, and we have had a blast!

Our principal Ms Bell loves the ferry so much, she went on it for her birthday! She loves Skipper Rachel's commentary and admires her strength at picking up e-bikes.

You can win a return pass on the ferry for 2 adults in the raffle at our upcoming fair on Sunday May 12. Thank you Rachel for your generous donation!

EASTER TUESDAY 🐰 A friendly reminder that Tuesday, 2 April 2024 is a school holiday.

Sometimes when Easter falls later in April, this holiday gets wrapped into the term break. But when it doesn't, Easter Tuesday is still a day off.

WHAT ABOUT EARLY LEARNING?
Terms and holidays are set for state schools under the Education (When State Schools Must Be Open) Regulations 2022. While many early childhood services follow school terms and holidays, some choose to operate.

Check with your provider if you're unsure. It's up to each early learning service to decide if they will operate on Easter Tuesday.
