Earlier in the month 15 PILSA members headed up to Wellington for our annual Careers Trip. It was an amazing two days of stimulating kōrero, networking, and learning about the many options available for PILSA members after law school. It was also great spending time together as a rōpū and exploring our beautiful capital city💛💙 Over our time in Wellington we were grateful to be able to visit Chapman Tripp, the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, Kāhui Legal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Ministry for Pacific Peoples. Here students were able to see what life in the public and private sector could look like or what a small firm is like compared to a larger commercial firm. We also heard from inspiring leaders within our communities who shared some of their career highlights with us and advice. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who kindly hosted us and encouraged our members to keep working hard and aiming high throughout law school! We’d also like to thank Otago’s Law Faculty and Chapman Tripp for their sponsorship of our annual Careers Trip. Finally a huge thank you to everyone who came on the trip and made it such a fun experience, we had the best time with you all and are so glad to have our PILSA family🫶🏾 Fa’afetai tele lava🙌🏾

It’s been 4 years since we had our very own PILSA Merch & with the PILSA Exec’s mahi these past few weeks we are proud to announce we have TWO Hoodies available for our very own members and alumni!!

This year is a little more special for PILSA. For those who don’t know it was our 25th anniversary. We were created on the 27th of March 1998. Our incentive to create merch not only for our current members but alumni was even stronger. Unfortunately we did not realise this until a few months ago, but to make up for it we thought we might do something special. So…

We have two colours Ecru (cream) & Forest Green (for those who get stains easily ). Hoodies are $55 each! LAST day to order merch is SUNDAY the 1st of OCTOBER. So get in quick. We have limited orders available!!

Mauri everyone! PILSA x OKISA are super excited to announce our event for Pacific Week. This Friday at 1pm come along to Room 2 OUSA Clubs and Socs to learn how to make your own beeswax wrap (which you can keep!) to reduce your plastic usage and environmental impact! Everything is provided, you just need to show up😮‍💨🫵🏾 There will be lots of yummy kai as well so bring your friends and see you on Friday! Everyone welcome!

DEGREE PLANNING WORKSHOP: do you struggle with planning for your degree? Do you feel overwhelmed with the number of papers to take? Are you aware of all the compulsory requirements to meet your law degree? PILSA CAMP REGISTRATIONS OPEN NOW🙌🏾😮‍💨🌴🌊 For the first time ever we are running a PILSA Camp and we are so excited for you to join us on Quarantine Island on Friday 28th of April. This is going to be an awesome opportunity to bond with your fellow PILSA members and strengthen our community while getting to explore the beautiful Dunedin region. Students have the option of just coming for the day or staying the night at the lodge on Quarantine Island too. All costs are covered.
