Techweek 2020, 27 July-2 August
Each year, New Zealand celebrates Techweek – an annual festival of innovation that’s good for the world. In 2020, Techweek is going digital and moving to July, providing a platform for everyone to meet, share ideas and create connections.
Dunedin has gone from hosting one event during the first Techweek in 2017, to hosting over 50 events in 2019. While Techweek's new format means that only digital events will be part of Techweek2020, it also means that people won’t be restricted by their geographic locations so they can attend any or all of the Techweek2020 events.
Dunedin Techweek Coordinator, Lauren Saker, says, “This is an annual chance to celebrate what is particularly successful in Dunedin, as well as promoting our innovators and creators. Now we are being encouraged to re-imagine events as virtual experiences and we look forward to seeing a broad range of events to engage, inform and inspire Kiwis, and to help us connect to our future."
Techweek2020 offers business seminars, virtual networking opportunities and educational speakers – but it isn’t just for those in the industry. There will be online tech workshops for kids and seniors, and other inspiring events aimed at a broader audience, nationwide. TechweekTV, which features interviews, panel discussions and other online video content, will also broadcast throughout Techweek2020.
