2024 for Penina o le Moana has started on an amazing high as our Peninas took to yet another stage when they performed at the Moana Nui festival last weekend.

We want to give a big fa’afetai tele lava to Ma’ole Faletolu and the team at Pacific Trust Otago for providing the space to celebrate Pacific diversity in our community.

Fa’afetai tele lava to the Samoan komiti that led this performance project, Moananu Pesamino Tili, Tautalamaleava Faletolu, and our very own Penina matriarch and director Tala’i Nabalagi, for their leadership, time, and tautua.

If this performance is an indicator of what is to come throughout the year, then buckle up for what will surely be an exciting adventure!

Don't forget to share our page, photos, and posts far and wide to ensure your aiga and community are following us, staying up to date with what our Peninas do next!

Penina o le Moana forever! 🌺 🇼🇸

Each year we choose a Samoan story to share with the girls. This year, it was the story of Leafaitulagi and the passing of her beloved mother Vaopunimatagi.
Doing this emphasises to our Penina, that story telling is a place holder for our history, kinship and aganu’u and siva Samoa is the instrument used to share these stories.
Shout out to our beautiful Mila-Rose and Kaliti who danced with so much grace, depicting the sadness and heartbreak in the Samoan song we all know - 🎶 Leafaitulagi.
