Cycle trails are popping up all over the country - my sister Sadie from Time To bike shop Dargaville let me borrow a bike when I was up there visiting. I got a nice taster on stage 1 of the Kaihu Valley trail. It heads north, eventually ending at the Village of Donnelly's Crossing. In the early 90s when I lived near Donnelly's, 45kms by car was a stunning drive, being able to do this on a bike will be magic.
