📢Turanga Health were proud to be onsite at the two EIT campuses of Turanganui-a-Kiwa delivering health checks to tauria during their lunch break 🩺📚

Aside from the obvious benefits of getting a check up, we hope that delivering these health checks onsite to students in a familiar environment reduces any barriers they might have when it comes to health care now and beyond campus life.🧑‍🎓🌟

🙌 We also had our BBQ cooker onsite to treat these busy tauira to burgers 🍔

****UPDATE - 9pm Thursday **** The Waingake pipeline was fixed this evening with supply from water treatment plant resuming tonight.

Both the Waingake treatment plant and the Waipaoa treatment plant will be in service over the long weekend to replenish the city's storage reservoirs.

Thank you to our contractors and water plant staff for fixing the pipeline and getting the treatment plants back to operation despite difficult storm conditions.

———————————————————————-
‼️Water pipe break️‼️ City residents please be careful with your water use over the next few days.

🟥 Late yesterday a break in the pipe from the dams to the Waingake Treatment Plant occurred after a landslide above the underground pipe.

Unfortunately, accessing the damaged area is challenging due to the weather and saturated ground.

Large machinery is being deployed but the repair may be delayed until conditions improve.

The outlet valves at the dams have been closed to prevent water flow to the affected section.

The alternative water supply from the Waipaoa Treatment Plant was started up yesterday and is operating to help supplement supply to our taps.

If you need to clean up storm debris or silt at your property please use rakes or spades instead of water to wash it away.

🟥 We’re urging everyone to be mindful of water use over the weekend while the reservoirs replenish.

🟥 The look and feel of the water from your taps may change over the next couple of days as the water is blended from the Waipaoa River which has been in flood.

ℹ Please remember, the water from your tap is safe to drink and will meet NZs very high water quality assurance rules set by Taumata Arowai.

We’ll keep you updated on progress, we’re hoping for some dry weather to repair the pipe break.
