Get ready to enjoy wholesome, delicious meals made from locally sourced ingredients with our Kete subscription! Perfect for your whānau, this week's mouth-watering recipes include:

🍝 **Family Favourite Spaghetti Bolognese** – A hearty and comforting dish featuring tender Wagyu/venison mince, fresh veggies, and rich tomato flavors. Ready in around 40 minutes, it’s a quick and delicious way to feed your family.

🥩 **Butter Beef** – A flavor-packed dish made with Wagyu/venison mince, butter chicken sauce, and vibrant veggies like capsicum and broccoli. Serve it with basmati rice for a meal that’s ready in just 30 minutes.

🥗 **Lamb Chops with Moroccan Couscous** – A taste of the exotic with succulent lamb chops seasoned with Moroccan spices and served alongside a zesty couscous salad. This dish brings warmth and flavor to your dinner table.

Kete Kai is thrilled to share three delicious and easy-to-make recipes that you can create with the fresh, locally sourced ingredients from your kete (basket). Perfect for feeding your whānau (family) and making the most of Tairāwhiti's finest produce. Check them out below!

**1. Super Speedy Venison & Wagyu Hotdogs**

🌭 **Ingredients:**
- 1 bag slaw with dressing
- 1 pack sausages
- 1 pack hotdog buns
- Hotdog sauces (your choice)
- 50g cheese, grated

**Method:**
1. **Assemble Slaw:** Combine the slaw with the dressing provided in the bag.
2. **Hotdogs:** Cook sausages in a frying pan or BBQ until browned and cooked through. Slice buns and assemble with your favorite sauce, sausages, slaw, and a sprinkle of cheese.

🕒 Ready in around 20 minutes, serves 5-6.

**2. Sizzling Stirfry with Seasonal Veggies, Garlic & Halloumi**

🥦 **Ingredients:**
- 1-2 cups rice (your choice)
- 500g Wagyu/venison mince
- 1 drizzle vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 small broccoli, chopped
- 1 capsicum, sliced
- 1 cup beans or peas, trimmed and sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 190g halloumi, sliced
- Black pepper

**Method:**
1. **Prep Rice:** Cook rice as per instructions.
2. **Cook Mince:** Brown the mince in a frying pan, add soy sauce, and set aside.
3. **Vegetables:** Fry the vegetables and garlic until tender, add soy sauce and lemon juice.
4. **Halloumi:** Fry halloumi slices until golden.
5. **Serve:** Layer rice, veggies, mince, and halloumi. Season with black pepper.

🕒 Ready in around 45 minutes, serves 5-6.

**3. Lamb Rogan Josh**

🍛 **Ingredients:**
- 1kg diced lamb shoulder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon crushed garlic
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 jar Rogan Josh simmer sauce
- 1 stock cube (chicken or beef)
- Basmati rice
- Plain yoghurt
- Fresh coriander (optional)

**Method:**
1. **Sear Lamb:** Season and brown lamb in a pot.
2. **Sauté Veg:** Cook onion and carrot, add garlic, then add lamb back with tomatoes and sauce.
3. **Simmer:** Cook on low for 1 hour 45 minutes.
4. **Cook Rice:** Prepare rice.
5. **Finish:** Add yoghurt to lamb, serve with rice and coriander.

🕒 Takes approx. 15 minutes prep & 2 hours to cook, serves 6.

Exciting news! We have opened up a limited number of Kete to the Tairawhiti community! The cost is $79 and the commitment is 6 weeks (first payment due 1 March). You will also be required to pick up yours and several other Kete for drop off ONCE during the 6 weeks and then ONCE to pick up & drop off the empty Kete bags to the drop off location. This will mean you need to be a delivery driver for approx one hour during the 6 week period. If you are interested in a 6 week subscription please message Tui Mārama Keenan

Exciting News! 🌟 Kete 2024 is launching on Wednesday, March 6th, and will be available at Ilminster Intermediate Te Hapara School Te Kura Reo Rua o Waikirikiri Due to rising costs, our kete meal kits are now $79 per week, providing 3 dinners for a family of 6. The meat alone is valued at $75 so this is a real bargain! Check out the recipes below from 2023 to get an idea of what Kete is all about.
Each week our dedicated student workforce packs 3kg of premium wagyu beef & venison, along with locally grown veggies & dry ingredients each week. The insulated kete is reusable, ensuring zero waste and zero emissions, as your child handles the courier duties. 🤗 Hurry, registrations close on Feb 21st. Kete availability is limited at each school & subscription is for 6 weeks during the this term. Contact your school's kete coordinator today!
