Its going to be a wet week here in Gisborne, so here's hoping for a dry spell before this weekends games!

The Electrinet Gisborne Thistle federation team are back in action this week, before heading on an extended run of away games.
They welcome title chasers PN Marist as they look for points to break into the top 4.
Get down to Childer's Road at 2.45pm on Saturday to help cheer them across the line.

In our local leagues, we have a travelling week, as all of our teams head away, but there's plenty to see all starting on Matariki Friday.

On Friday in Division 2, we have two teams taking advantage of the public holiday; starting with league leaders, Gissy Bobcat Services Thistle as they travel to Harry Barker reserve to take on Gisborne Utd 2nd's, KO is at 12.00pm.
Making the long drive this week is Versatile Thistle, as they head out to Wairoa for an important top three clash.
This is our game of the week and will be a fierce battle, KO is at 12.30.

On Saturday, back in division 1, GTYT A head out on the road, travelling to Harry Barker to take on Gisborne Utd. Our youth boys will be looking to build on last weeks excellent performance and continue their climb up the table.
KO is at Harry Barker @ 2.45pm.

In Division 2, Draggnet Thistle Vintage travel out to Nelson Park to take on HSOB Eels, fresh of the back of last week's frustrating draw.
KO is at 2.45pm.
GTYT B are looking to maintain their excellent form as they travel to Nelson Park to take on Gisborne Bohemians, KO is at 12.30 on pitch #1.

And to wrap up a busy weekend, we have two games on Sunday.

YMCA Thistle Ladies will travel to Nelson Park to take on Gisborne Bohemians, fresh from a frustrating loss last week and looking to pick up points.
KO is at 10.30am.

Tatapouri Marist Thistle will also be on the road, travelling to Harry Barker reserve to take on Gisborne Utd, as they look to get points on the board after a much improved performance last week.

Its that time again, get ready for another action packed weekend of football at Thistle!

We have hugely exciting games on offer this weekend across our local leagues.

Starting in Division 1, GTYT A are back in action once again, welcoming the tough and exciting Wainui Sandbars team, in what should be a hotly contested match up.
KO is at 2.45pm on Childer's Rd #1.

In Division 2, we welcome most of our teams back to Childers Road;
Draggnet Thistle Vintage will take on a rapidly improving Ngatapa Silkies team, looking to cement their place in the top six for the halfway split.
KO is at 12.30pm on Childer's Rd #1.

League leaders Gizzy Bobcat Services Thistle will look to maintain their unbeaten league form as they welcome Smash Palace Shockers Green, in what could be an interesting challenge for the veterans.
KO is at 12.30pm on Childer's Rd #2.

The high flying Versatile Thistle will host their home game at Nelson Park this week as they take on the young HSOB Campion team, looking to close the gap on the league leaders.
KO is at 12.30pm on Nelson Rd #1.

Finally in Division 2, our young, exciting and ever more consistent GTYT B team, will welcome CG Plumbing HSOB Eels, in an interesting challenge for this young team.
KO is at 2.45pm on Childer's Rd #2.

Sundays don't come much more exciting than this, get along and support our Ladies, as they take on close competition in important games for both teams.

In a top of the table clash, YMCA Thistle Ladies welcome league leaders Wainui Riverina, looking to take points and close the gap at the top of the league.
This is our match of the week, get along and see a titanic battle unfold.
KO is at 10.30am on Childer's Rd #1.

At the other end of the table, Tatapouri Marist Thistle Ladies welcome a steadily improving Gisborne Bohemians Ladies, in what should be a close and exciting game, looking to pick up points and leave the foot of the table.

The season is flying by at the moment, and we have another action packed weekend of football for you here at Thistle.

Fresh off the back of a frustrating defeat last week, our Electrinet Thistle fed team welcome the third and final visitor from the Taranaki region, as Peringa Utd are in town looking to pick up points and close the gap on mid-table.
KO is at 12.30pm on Childer's #1.

Back in the local leagues, we are largely on the road this week, starting with GTYT A who return to action against the in-form Shockers Gold.
The boys will be looking to close the gap on the top half and get some much needed points on the board.
KO is at 2.45pm on Harry Barker #2.

In division 2, after a solid performance last week, Gizzy Bobcats Thistle will be taking on yet another HSOB team as they line up against the young HSOB Campion team, in what is likely to be high scoring game.
KO is at 12.30pm on Childer's #2.

Versatile Thistle will be looking to maintain their rich vein of form as they travel to Nelson Park to take on the HSOB Eels team, in what could be an epic showdown in the race for points at the halfway stage of the season.
KO is at 12.30pm on Nelson Park #1.

The remainder of our division 2 games will be down at Harry Barker this weekend.
The bang in form GTYT B team will be on the road, taking on HES Gisborne United 2nd's in what should be a very interesting match up as GTYT B look to gain a top three position after their excellent win over Wairoa last weekend.

Finally, a rallying Draggnet Thistle Vintage team face a big challenge as they face Shockers Green in a 'six pointer', mid table clash that could dictate the split at the half season. This is our pick for the match of the week.

In women's football, we have the first round of the Braybrook Cup this week.
YMCA Thistle Ladies have secured a bye and will progress straight to the semi-finals, but Tatapouri Thistle Marist ladies must face a strong Wainui Riverina team, to progress beyond the first round.

The football season is flying by and we are closing on the critical half way point! Don't miss out on another exciting week of football down at Childer's Road.

Our ever improving and exciting federation team will be welcoming a currently struggling New Plymouth Rangers team, in what should be a very interesting match up.
The Jags will need every bit of support to continue their climb up the table, get down to Childer's Rd #1 at 12.30pm on Saturday.
We will be introducing our new half time competitions, make sure you are there for your chance to win prizes!

In division one, our hard working GTYT A team will have a well deserved break, as they take the bye.

But division 2 is back in action in a big way, with some fascinating clashes on offer.

The slowly improving Thistle Vintage team will be on the road (but as the home team) against strugglers HSOB Campion, looking to get points on the board. Kick off will be at 12.30, down at Nelson Park.

Back at Childer's Rd, Versatile Thistle will be looking to continue their rich vein of form, as they take on a tough Gisborne Utd 2nds team on Childer's #2, who will be on the hunt for points. Kick off is at 12.30.

In the late afternoon shift, we have more exciting games on offer, as our high flying Gizzy Bobcats will be welcoming another HSOB team, as the Eels come looking for points and Bobcats look to bounce back from their narrow loss in the cup on monday. Kick Off will be at 2.45 on #2.

Finally, we round up our men's football with the ever exciting GTYT B team welcoming the tough, title chasing Wairoa Athletic to Childer's Rd, in what will surely be an epic battle for points. Kick off will be at 2.45 on #1.

In the women's Eastern league; title chasers YMCA Thistle Ladies have a tough test against a solid and ever improving Shockers Ladies team. This is going to be a key fixture for both teams as they look to maintain their top three spots. Kick of will be at 10.30 down at Harry Barker #2.

Our Tatapouri Marist ladies face a tough test, as they travel to Wainui, looking to close the gap with league leaders Wainui Riverina.

Huge day for our Juniors, with wonderful performances throughout the day.

Our Grade 10 boys picked up 3rd place in the C Grade Bowl finals.

Our Grade 10 Girls picked up 3rd place overall in the A Grade Cup finals, losing narrowly on penalties in the semi final, but scoring over 20 goals on the way.

Our Grade 12 Boys picked up 4th place in the B Grade Plate finals, again losing narrowly on penalties in the semi final.

And our Grade 14 girls went all the way picking up 1st place in the B Grade Plate finals and taking home the medals after a titanic battle with Hibiscus Coast.

A fantastic day was had by all, and we will back again next year for sure.

Junior Tournament Update:

10 Boys finished 3rd in group and will play in the B grade finals.
10 Girls topped their group undefeated, scoring 18 goals, they will play in the A grade finals.
12 Boys stormed to a second place finish, and will play in the A grade finals.
14 Girls were desperately unlucky to miss out on 2nd place in group, taking 3rd and a place in the B grade finals.

All onto the semi finals now, wish us luck!

Huge congratulations to our academy players that took part in the Super 8 Futsal yesterday in Tauranga with Gisborne Intermediate and Ilminster Intermediate.

Our boys featured strongly across both teams, with Gis Int going desperately close to the finals, missing out on goal difference but taking 5th place against a strong Taupo team.

Our girls were incredibly strong throughout, defending their title to take the gold again.

An astonishing level of talent, maturity and commitment on display from our players. We're so proud of you all!

We have another action packed weekend coming up at Childer's Rd to celebrate King's Birthday!

Our Electrinet Gisborne Thistle fed team are back from their break and welcome Whanganui Athletic back to federation league football at Childer's Road, kicking off what should be a very exciting game at 2.30pm on Childer's Road #1 this Saturday.
Get down and roar the Jags to a victory that could see them climb to mid-table.

Back in the local leagues, our hard working GTYT A team have a huge task on their hands, as they face 2 games in 3 days, first welcoming Wainui Sharks to Childers Rd, kicking off at 2.45pm on pitch #2.
Following this, the team have a rapid turnaround, as they welcome the ever-dangerous HES Gisborne Utd 1sts on Monday, kicking off at 12.30 on Childers #1.
They are going to need every bit of support to accomplish a weekend like that, get down and cheer them on and make your long weekend an exciting one!

The Chris Moore Cup has reached the Quarter-Final stages and we have three teams in action, looking to put their name on the trophy for 2024.

In a replay of the massively exciting league game, our GTYT B team will be looking to bounce back against league leaders; Gizzy Bobcats Thistle who progressed on the bye in the previous round.
The teams kick off at 2.45 on Childer's Rd #2 on Monday.

On the road in the cup this week are our impressive Versatile Thistle team, who will be looking to claim another cup title, as they travel to Nelson Park to take on an ever improving Wainui Salty Dogs, in what is sure to be a tense battle.

We would also like to wish our traveling Junior teams all the best as they travel to the King's Birthday Tournament in Papamoa, BOP.
We have teams across four grades, with boys and girls wearing the blue as they take on huge clubs from all over the North Island.

Week 8 Fixtures

Its a local affair this week, as our federation team take a break with a bye.

In division one; our GTYT A team will be hosting Wainui Demons, with a view to getting some all important points. This will be a hotly contested match and should produce some exciting football. KO 2.45 CRR #1.

In division two; we have all teams at home this week along with yet another club derby, with two high flying teams going head to head in what should be a fascinating game, Versatile Thistle vs GTYT B. KO 12.30 CRR #2.

Vintage will be looking to bounce back after last weeks game, hosting Gisborne United 2nd's in what could be a very interesting game. KO 12.30 CRR #1.

League leaders Gizzy Bobcat services Thistle are in a top of the table clash as they welcome a visit from fellow high flyers Wairoa Athletic, looking to follow up on last weeks big win. KO 2.45 CRR #2.

Sunday sees two exciting games coming up as high flying YMCA Thistle Ladies take on an ever improving Gisborne United Ladies team, looking to close the gap on the league leaders. KO 10.30 CRR #1.

Thistle Marist Ladies welcome Shockers Ladies, in what should be a solid battle for points. Marist will be looking to bounce back from a big defeat last week and get some points on the board. KO 10.30 CRR #2.

It's finally time to introduce our all new YMCA Thistle Ladies team to the club!

Currently chasing top of the Women's Eastern League, our Ladies have been in Federation Cup action this season, narrowly losing 5-4 to Whanganui Athletic from the federation league in the first round, with a performance making clear the progress this team is making.

The team is young, with many players migrating across from the school teams that are no longer in the league, but we have a spine of talented and experienced seniors, helping us to build towards our dream of entering the Women's Federation league.

If you want to see our team in action, get down to Childer's Road this weekend, as they take on Gisborne United in the league. KO 10.30, Childer's Rd #1.

We're hugely excited to build a solid women's competitive programme and pathway for the future, and we welcome youth female players (12+) to our training sessions on wednesday evenings.

For our Junior players (12 and under), we still have our Fantails programme, every wednesday from 3.30.

Come and get involved in our ever growing ladies programmes and help us build a ladies section to be proud of!

We have more women's programmes coming over the course of the season, so keep an eye on the page for more information.

Weather Cancellation:

Unfortunately, due to the increasingly bad weather report and pitch conditions, we have been forced to cancel our PAC academy sessions for today.
We will look to have a replacement session lined up over the next two weeks.
Children coming direct from school will be able to wait for collection in the clubrooms, which will close at 4.00pm.
We apologise for the late notice, the weather report has gotten steadily worse over the course of the day.

Week 7 is here and the season is starting to gain momentum!

There are some very exciting match ups this weekend:

Our Electrinet Gisborne Thistle AFC fed team will travel to Havelock North to match up against the high flying Wanderers team, newly returned to the fed league for 2024.
The live stream for this game will be posted on the game day, but we always encourage our fans to travel, should they so wish.

In local football, GTYT A will be looking to get back to winning ways, when they take on the HSOB Black Hearts, in what should be a very interesting match up.
Fortunately, even as the away team, the boys will be back at Childer's Road, get down and support them, KO 2.45 Childers Rd #2.

Division 2 throws up some tough games for our teams, fresh off getting back in the points last week, Draggnet Thistle Vintage face a tough challenge as they are off on the road taking on a very tough Wairoa Athletic team. KO at 2.30 in Wairoa.

Versatile Thistle are also on the road this week, heading down to Nelson Park to take on a struggling Gisborne Bohemians team. KO at 12.30 at Nelson Park.

In the last game of the week for division 2, we are once again treated to an exciting in house derby as two of the top three face off, with GTYT B hosting league leaders Gizzy Bobcat Services Thistle here at Childer's Rd, KO at 12.30.

Finally, to round off another great weekend of football at Childer's Rd, we have another derby game, as YMCA Thistle Ladies, fresh from their exploits in the Fed Cup, host our ever-improving Tatapouri Marist Thistle team, in what is sure to be a game full of excitement.

Once again, get down to Childer's Rd this weekend and watch some wonderful football and soak up the ever growing atmosphere here at Thistle.

At 12.30 on pitch #2, we have our second derby of the day, as high flying Gizzy Bobcat Services Thistle take on the bang in-form Versatile Thistle team in what should be an all action derby.

Sunday will see all eyes turn to our YMCA Thistle Ladies team, as they return to Central Federation Cup action, travelling to Napier to take on GJ Gardner Whanganui Athletic's ladies, in what should be a true test of our all new team.
We are aiming to provide a live stream of this game, so please keep an eye for a link.
Or, if you are feeling like a road trip, we would love to welcome supporters to the sideline at Bond Park.
