Butterfly Creations NZ
Crafting beauty and happiness. Just some of the things I do. Page is work in progress. My name is Michelle and I live in Hamilton, New Zealand.
I am a married mum of 2. I often get asked about the different crafts I do, so here is something I have pulled together to show these. Many items can be re-produced and custom made. This is my hobby and if you want something made that is fine, I would be happy to do that for you, however time scales to getting things completed will vary as everything is hand done and will also depend on what else is going on in life.
Selling these boxes if anyone is interested.
Completely hand stitched. padded inside and outside.
Ideas of use - Sewing Box, Jewelry/Trinket Box. Could be used to store almost anything.

What better way to spend a sunday afternoon. Laying out the crochet blanket and finding I need 5 more little squares. Be nice to get this one done then both kids will have a blanket for the car
Got the wool and hook out today for the first time in over a year. Really would like to get this done as it will be for the kids to use in the car to help keep them warm
What to do on a day that you feel like crap for the third day in a row.....
Feet up with a good series on and crafting is the best relaxation method I can think of.
Making up some boxes to hopefully sell later in the year.
Hit me up if you want one made. 🙂
Two more little boxes completed. These will go into my stash until they are needed.
Got some amazing fabric recently that I'm looking forward to making into boxes in the near future.
Something I have been wanting to do for a while is make some reusable present bags. At the beginning of last year I brought some fabric with this in mind and it has taken me until now to get my sewing machine out and workout how to make these bags.
Needless to say I'm quite impressed with my first attempt.
I should note that I am still very much learning how to use a sewing machine so I am really impressed with myself. 😊
3 boxes delivered yesterday to their new home's (well almost as they are Christmas Presents). I loved doing these boxes and it was a first for fussy cutting but I love how they came out.
And these two are finished. Very happy with how they have turned out and the kids love them.
It's been an arty sort of day. Making things for the kids walls and new bag and coat hooks. Cant wait to finish these
Finally this is getting nearer to being finished. Started it 10years ago and now just doing the edge's before it gets quilted. Once finished this will be a queen size quilt for Raiden and I.
I have been busy over the last few days when I'm either not working or looking after the kids. Made up a couple more fabric boxes. 3 different sizes. Love that these can be made in any size bigger than 5cm².
Love finding fabrics that make these wonderful creations.
Doing something I haven't done for a number of years. Fabric boxes. Love giving these as gifts and the reactions they get.
Spending a bit of time on my English Paper Piecing quilt today. Cant wait to start fully putting this together. Quilt will be for Freya once its finished.
It's a crochet kind of evening!! This will eventually be joined to 3 others of the same size to make the inner of a blanket and then will go around the edge of that to make it bigger.
Love the ease of pick up and put down crafts.
It's wet and windy outside, so im snuggled with a blanket and movie on TV.
Loving how portable English Paper Piecing is. I've been taking it along to church and stitching while listening to the sermon. Feeling pleased with my progress on this quilt for Freya. Hopefully it will be finished before she grows out of liking butterflies. 😁
Last night I got to teach a lovely group of 8 how to make hanging wreaths in the English Paper Piecing style. Every one left the evening with a completed or partially completed wreath plus the materials to be able to finish it off at home.
Back in July I had the privilege of teaching a class at our church the art of Pinbroidery. It was a great evening with a number of patterns completed. Needless to say my framed candles didn't come home with me and went home with a lovely lady.
I'm happy to run a class for small groups on any of the items I have made at a small charge.
