HONDA CUP | ROUND 2
Jumped behind the wheel of the old girl this morning for Round 2 of the Motul Honda Cup. The car remains a strong competitor in its class, landing in P1 for qualifying and P1 in race 1.
During qualifying and race 1, we noticed the shifting was getting harder throughout the sessions. So, the decision was made by the team to bring the car back to the workshop, rip the gearbox out, and replace the clutch. The drive off and back on the trailer took under 2 hours!!! Solid effort from the boys.
Race 2 and 3 tomorrow.

All the goodies turned up this week from and , shame I can’t Install any of it them just yet.

UPDATE | EK
Been a busy day in the shed today.
Managed to score a set of Konig Hypergrams in 17x8 for once the car is K swapped.
Installed my new PCI seat mount from and dialled in the seat position perfectly.
Mounted my AIM Solo 2 and gave the car a good scrub so it’s ready for testing at the Type R track day at Hampton Downs on Thursday.
Really looking forward to been back behind the wheel of this weapon.

The 2019/20 Motul Honda Cup Champion is jumping behind the wheel of the EG this weekend, can’t wait to see it on track.
UPDATE | EK
Finally got around to giving the door jams a good tidy up. I purchased the car already painted and it looked like a 2 year old was let loose with a paint gun, runs everywhere!!!
All sanded back and a fresh coat of paint it looks so much better and also the car probably dropped a few kg’s with how much paint was sanded off 😂

UPDATE | EK
from CPR Auto Electrical working his magic on the EK Civic for 2023/24 season, removing all unnecessary wiring, plugs and relays from under the dash. Hopefully this will help with bringing the car closer to its minimum race weight.

2023 - 2024 SEASON
Back in the driver’s seat! 🚗💨 After a couple of debates over cold brews with the squad, we’ve decided to bring back the 21/22 N1 Championship-winning B16A Civic for the 23/24 season! 🔥🏆
Last year’s K24 power was a blast, but with lack of tyre selection this season on the horizon, this was our best move.
Get ready for pure adrenaline as we dive back into the raw power of the B16A Civic and set our sights on giving those N2 CL9 Accords a run for their money! 💪💥 #57 🏁🏎️

Yeow!!!! The man is on a mission, any fabrication work you need and not just car related flick Kieran a message.

Both cars ready for action this weekend at CJC’s GripFest with piloting the EK.
Looking forward to plenty of lol’s and catching up with all the familiar faces.

GRIPFEST PREP
Going over the EG getting the car ready for CJC’s GripFest next weekend lead to unfortunately finding a cracked front rotor 😢
After researching many options on new disks and availability Kieran from KFab told me to steal his Wilwood setup off his old DC2R and see how it feels, on a side note how good does it look on the TE37’s 😅

Anyone tried these new Bluetooth brake rotors????

22/23 | PRIZE GIVING
And just like that, the 22/23 season is over! 🏁 It's been an incredible journey of growth and development for both myself and the new car. From the mighty B16A EK to the earth-rotating K24A EG Civic, we definitely learnt a lot this year.
At the beginning of the season, I set an ambitious goal of a top 5 overall finish. It wasn't an easy task, but with dedication and hard work, we made it happen and finished 4th overall and 3rd in class.
I want to express my gratitude to my amazing Pit crew Tim Butler, who worked tirelessly at the track to ensure the car performed at its best.
A special thank you goes out to my sponsors, The team at PMD Painting Ltd, James at ProBase Engineering, Andrew and Vanessa from Pit Stop Te Rapa, Kieran at KFab and Pierce from Garage Ponies whose generous support this season made it all possible, Thank you.
And of course, I want to thank all that have supported us every step of the way this season. Your encouragement and enthusiasm have meant the world to the team.
As we celebrate this achievement, I'm filled with excitement for what lies ahead. The 22/23 season may be over, but our journey in motorsport continues.
Stay tuned for more thrilling adventures to come from the Dallimore Motorsport team.

SEASON UPDATE | ROUND 5
Round 5 took place where the 22/23 season started, Hampton Downs.
Going into the grand final weekend I was sitting 4= with Jamie Wiggins in his lightening quick K20a DC2 and with Brent Thompson not far behind in points meant it was all on!!
Qualifying - Heavy fog and little track temperature meant we were taking a stab in the dark with tyre pressures but still managed to hit a PB of a 1.12.191 placing me in 5th for race 1.
Race 1 - Rolling Start
A fairly clean race, managed to hold on to 5th place and was starting to feel more comfortable in the car and push it a bit harder on a few corners I knew I was lacking on.
Race 2 - Reverse Top 10
Starting 4th on the grid I was feeling pretty confident that I would do well in this race, unfortunately going into turn 1 another competitor spun right in front of me sending me to the outside leaving a big gap for everyone else to head down the inside, with a little bit of red mist kicking in I was trying to catch back up and in the meantime I managed another PB of 1.11.813 and finish the race in 6th place.
Race 3 - Handicap Start
A very eventful race this one, as I was waiting for my flag to drop for my race to start I didn’t realise I actually had the car in 3rd instead of 1st and stalled on the line 🤬.
Luckily the cars behind me were able to get around me with out to much drama, once I finally got the car started all I could do put my head down and do my best to catch up and this is when Disaster struck…. another competitor unfortunately had a brake line issue causing him to meet the wall going into turn 1 bringing out the red flag (the driver was able to walk away from the accident). Once the accident was cleared we were set to be released by the safety car giving us 2 laps at full race pace, once the lights went green it was all on as for the final race of the season 😳 squeezing in some tight gaps I managed to work my way back up to 2nd place finishing behind Jamie Wiggins by 0.262 of a second.
EG K24A | UPDATE
With round 5 just around the corner we better get into prep mode 😅
After the last Play Day at Pukekohe the car developed a slight miss fire on certain corner exits, not been able diagnose the problem at the track I’ve gone down the rabbit hole to try find the problem with new plugs, testing the coils, cleaning the injectors and even fitting a new fuel pump, hopefully the misfire has disappeared for the final round.

EK B16A | UPDATE
Giving the EK some love, getting it ready for the next round of Honda Cup for Mr . Kieran from has helped me out a lot over the years with any fabrication work on the Civic’s and what’s one of the best ways to say thank you? Throw him the keys and tell him he is entering the next round 😂.

Rumour has it that we could see the return of the N1 EK at the next round of Honda Cup with a guest driver, Hope he is ready for the mighty B16A power!!!

EG K24A | UPDATE
Few small jobs ticked off the list leading into next weekends Round 4 of the Motul Honda Cup.
1. The radiator was taking an absolute beating from stones and rubber from other cars, so a piece of fly screen cut down works well to be a sacrificial barrier.
2. I’m finding the car is struggling with mid and corner exit understeer so where trying a smaller front sway bar going from 24mm to a 21mm to see if that will make the front end more compliant.
3. Last round I forgot to open my slide window and with the cabin pressure at over 200kph it decided it wanted to vacate from the vehicle, luckily I had some spare polycarbonate at home so I could make a new one 😂.
